I took tercet out behind the proverbial woodshed like 4 years ago.

Are we sure he and twisted logic aren't the same person? Similar spaztic personalities.

I was on a board with Tercet for years before I came to BJMB.. Def not the same person, even if you are just saying in jest.

I'm reasonably sure that tercet wanted to kill me. Like, legit find out where I live and turn me into a skin suit. I never got anything like that vibe from TL.

It has been kinda weird. He was a frequent poster, said he wanted to have a Fantasy team in two board leagues. He got one and didn’t make a transaction in like 6 months. Yet, he was spotlighting himself so in the Fantasy baseball thread so much with non-board teams, that he basically highjacked it until the Sheriff started regulating.

It’s the silent ones you need to worry about the most.

Given that I was permanently banned and have no way of speaking on the absolute weird s*** being said about me in this thread, I made this account to respond. After I have, I'll gladly get out of everyone's hair because unlike several relentless dupe accounts here, I have no interest in forcing myself into a community where I am unwelcome.

TL quit the board on his own volition and made it very public he was quitting with basically a F U guys I'm, out.

You mean when I didn't make a single comment about it and just sent a small group of people on Fantrax a message before leaving? Very public indeed.

It's too bad the dude seems to have some serious issues simply getting along with others.

For sure. You know, apart from not having any issues in any other community that I'm a part of.

The biggest fail on this guys part was when he tried to sell the board on the virtues of Raimel Tapia. We all know how that one turned out.

My biggest fail was defending a good trade?

Also I notice he still does the thing on reddit where he tries to post news before everyone else. Odd

Do I now? I must have a pretty impressive ability to multi-task then, considering the last three baseball transaction periods, I've been running the r/baseball megathreads.

The only other posts he would have, would be posting something from Reddit. It appeared he was trying to drive traffic to Reddit

Interesting hypothesis given that I haven't posted anything from reddit since returning to this forum in November. I made a payroll chart for a Discord community I'm a part of and posted it to this forum before I posted it to reddit. The updated version I shared a few days ago was only posted here.

Then he pops back in after no posting a comment in months, with some race baiting BS and going after a Mod who actually did do what he accused him of not doing.

Bringing up that "Go buy yourself an Achmed wife and get yourself blown up" might be a problematic comment is not race-baiting. That's the most blatantly bigoted s*** I've ever read outside of places like right-wing twitter and Donald Trump subreddits. If that was meant as a joke, it still deserved to be removed for being aggressively unfunny. Jeff Dunham? Seriously?

Oh and btw CD, It's okay to admit that you're still holding a grudge because I didn't accept your garbage trade proposals while I was in the league. I'm not in there anymore. I can't hurt you.

It was the follow up post about a mod finally doing their job. Maybe I'm reading too much into it but the tone of that was just blatantly disrespectful.

Just between the Blue Jays and NBA subreddits that I moderate, there are over 6 million people subscribed and more than 50 moderators across just those two subreddits. Given the kind of things people say about us on a daily, hourly, even per-minute basis on that website, just the possibility of a single one of our 50+ moderators being this soft actually gives me anxiety just from imagining the damage someone with mod power could do there if they were this easily wounded.

The point is that when someone who doesn't even engage here shows up and immediately disparages the moderation - the conduct is antisocial.

So, I came back in mid-November, saw a wildly offensive comment a month later and made a passive-aggressive remark about that comment still being live 5 hours later while mods were actively participating in that thread, and that makes me antisocial. Not the guy who permanently banned me because I figuratively used the word "job" to describe their role as a community moderator.

Thanks for the diagnosis, good doctor.

lol... :P That comment is/was a joke, you know banter with my favourite dumbass connorpee... getting worked up over that is silly. Also, what's wrong with the Jeff Dunham reference, it's funny? Pull the stick out of your ass, TL.

Reddit is designed so that it’s mostly a bunch of anonymous people shouting into the void. Here, you can have more of a back and forth and build a rapport with the other members.

Right on the money. The average sports redditor is an idiot and is more interested in repeating whatever the most popular idea is at the time to pick up upvotes, even if they know nothing on that topic. Places like this are much better for sustained, "productive" conversations (as far as you can use the word productive to describe sports talk).

But reddit's anonymity has its own appeal. A place where you can build rapport with people is also a place where you can build bad blood with them. Me and the way people feel about me here is a perfect example of that.

I didn’t realize it was a permanent ban. That’s seems egregious does it not? Let him come back.

All that's left for me to say is that I don't hold grudges and I don't have anything against anyone here. It was nice to find this place in 2013 and despite all the s*** that's happened over the years, I'm glad I found it. If anyone wants to reach me, they can dm me on reddit (twistedlogicx); even though I'm not nearly as active there as I once was, I'll eventually respond. I do enjoy covering the draft and in all the years since I joined this site, even when I wasn't an active contributor, I tried to do at least that much. Now that I've grown a habit of it, I'll probably find a new way to do that, so if anyone is interested in finding wherever that is, just message me next year when that time comes.

I don't know if Boxcar still posts here but the last thing I want to say is despite my conversations with Boxy early on in this site being probably the most contentious conversations I ever had here (and the main reason for me leaving once), he apologized to me years ago via DM and I've always appreciated the maturity it took do that and I wanted other people to know he did that.

Hope I run into some of you folks elsewhere on the internet. Cheers.

I generally enjoy you and think you're one of the better people on this forum so I don''t want you to think that my reaction reflects how I feel about you. You're a good dude with lots of love to give, you've given out more thanks than pretty much the rest of this forum combined, lol. I just thought it was a s*** comment that should have been removed. I've never involved myself with any of the petty stuff between you and connor because I just assumed it's a shtick but I thought that specific comment was too far.

Jeff Dunham sux.

Well defended TL. Permanent ban is crazy .

I’m just wondering how many non-permanent bans does it take to get to a permanent ban? Can any mod chime in with a rough estimate on that? Unrelated note, how many is spankypee up to?

Thanks for the diagnosis, good doctor.

As we all know I serve as law enforcement for a team specific baseball message board and am not in fact a doctor.

So take this with a grain of salt but I think I can safely diagnose you with a case of being "Extremely Online." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extremely_online#:~:text=Extremely%20online%20(often%20capitalized)%2C,online%20posts%20are%20very%20important.

If I was a proper doctor I'd prescribe a daily dose of chills pills and touching grass at least once daily.

Gotta get that protien in the morning but not bad.

I went with oats, protien powder, pumpkin seeds and cacao powder

Had a hard boiled egg yesterday. Usually eat eggs every morning.

Perma ban is wild. I am old enough to remember when some of the mods started cracking down on people being mean because they wanted BJMB to be a safe, inclusive space for everyone to enjoy. They referenced feuds between posters as a reason why board growth was stagnant and wanted to promote diversity to fuel growth.

The permaban is way too far in my opinion.

I do agree with TL that the comment being up as long as it was is horseshit. We're a relatively small community and if we want to grow at all and welcome new members (which we should want to) even if it is an inside joke it can go to far and push people away.

To answer breakfast 150g of egg whites, 1 whole egg, blended with vanilla cinnamon and monk fruit sweetener, dip 4 slices of bread in and fry (add the extra egg mixture as it cooks) top with sugar free syrup.

This is a lightly moderated board for several reasons.

As Laika said, it's a handful of volunteers who do it and they aren't always online.

Also, it isn't like Reddit where you have dozens of people who will downvote and report stuff, the mods are mostly on their own and they participate in the discussions themselves. If they come across something while they are participating they might take action but they aren't going back and scouring threads for potential offensive posts.

Finally, this board/community has been around forever and the mods have a good pulse on how heavy they should moderate and the people here seem to prefer that it operates like the internet of 8-10 years ago where people simply ignored what they didn't like rather than the mods having to take action.

So all told, as far as how heavily this place is moderated I'd say that it isn't 4chan around here, but it also isn't Reddit. It's probably somewhere around what Twitter is like now.
