I don't even know what you would get for Nate right now. His value is at an all time low.

Probably for another once top heralded prospect. Kelenic would make sense if both the Mariners/Blue Jays wanted to shake things up. Otherwise, best to just hold onto Pearson and hope you can either transition him to the bullpen or he does at some point figure it out as a starter.

Kelenic is three years younger than Pearson and was basically the #1 MLB prospect so he's still for sure more valuable.

I dunno what fair value for Pearson is anymore. If it's a failed prospect, change of scenery thing then the return will be pretty ugly. Cristian Pache, Carter Kieboom, Taylor Trammell... lmao. If you are super lucky maybe Brandon Marsh or Jose Lowe or JJ Bleday or Kiriloff/Larnach or someone like that.

Agreed about the playoffs being magnified, and some luck will be huge, it's a crapshoot and why the best team doesn't always win. Can't wait for tomorrow. Go Jays Go!

The Gurriel and Espy injuries suck, they could still be available, who knows, I usually agree with our teams decisions, I'd also like to see Moreno or Biggio in LF over Tapia. These guys get on base, Tapia does not.

Yeah got to love this board. No one gives a s*** that the Jays have to play a 0.3 WAR guy, on the level of Taylor Trammel.

I guess it is because Rocket Raimel has a killer attitude and can hit 420 foot 112 mph bombs once every 40 games. I could see him doing it twice this weekend and winning wild card MVP.

f*** WAR. People who watched the game for a long time know attitude... and Tapia has attitude and won't give a f*** about the pressure. Series MVP even though Tapia is the worst baserunner of all time, and according to fWAR at the level of Taylor Trammell this year.

I understand what he means, but man is that a dumb way to say it.

Good thing he has an arm.

He was asked if he was feeling the pressure of starting tomorrow, and he replied with some swag and it was funny, nothing to see here, mate.

2022 Bellinger is like a 1.7 WAR guy hitting .210,

If Kelenic can be like Bellinger and hit .220 he can be an almost 2 WAR guy too.

Kelenic hitting .140 is like the same as Tapia... lol. Maybe not quite. No checked it. Tapia is a 0.3 WAR guy.

So apparently Taylor Trammel and Tapia are tied with 0.3 WAR.

Laughing my ass off how supposedly replacing Haggerty with Trammel is A BIG f***ING DEAL.

Replacing Gurriel with Tapia? f***. No big deal. Tapia got this.

Wait didn't Grant say that Tapia is the worst base runner of all time?

According to Grant Logic losing Haggerty for Trammell, should be cancelled by losing Gurriel for Tapia, the worst baserunner of all time.

Where's the baserunning thing coming from? He's a bone head out there too, but I called him a terrible left fielder before the season and you absolutely freaked out in a multi post tirade.

He is a bad left fielder and you were wrong, what a shocker.

Do you have anything in your playbook other than hyperbole and lies?

Remember when the Jays traded Travis Snider for Brad Lincoln? Wouldn't that be something similar?

Yeah but you don't want to act all cocky and arrogant before a start and motivate the opposing team. It wasn't that bad to be honest but Manoah seems like the kind of guy who can act a bit arrogant/show up the opposing team.

Yeah pretty much

Not really, Snider had his opportunities. Pearson has had limited. The few opportunities Pearson has had, he has shown ability to dominate MLB hitters.

Nathaniel Pearson has a 6.03 career FIP in the majors

And his career AAA numbers are mediocre. FIPs or ERAs above 4 in every year.

But yes, he's like 1.5 seasons away from being as washed up as Snider was

I'm kind of comparing the type of deal where a highly touted pitching prospect and OF prospect were swapped for each other after they disappointed in the Majors during their first two or three seasons. Kelenic would be like Snider and Pearson would be like Lincoln. So deals like this have happened. So trading Pearson for a guy like Kelenic is pretty reasonable if both teams want to shake things up and based on team needs. Otherwise, you're not going to get anything for Pearson at this point, so the Jays would just be better off hoping he figures it out as a starter at some point or you transition him to the BP.

we should have traded him for an aging knuckleballer while we had the chance

Look at how this Dipoto-Preller banger has turned out

August 30 2020

Padres traded Trammell, Ty France, Andrés Muñoz, and Luis Torrens to the Seattle Mariners for Austin Nola, Dan Altavilla, and Austin Adams.

2021+2022 WAR

France 5.6

Munoz 1.9

Torrens 0.0

Trammell 0.3

Altavilla -0.1

Adams 0.3

Nola 1.2

s*** like this is why AJ Preller is a complete moron, holding back the Padres.

They probably think JBJ with his experience is a better option than Zimmer.

Will be interesting to see the Jays lineup for this afternoon. I hope Kirk and Jansen are both in it as C/DH. For LF, Merrifield would be ideal but that means Biggio or Espinal at 2B.

interesting they went Kooch over Zimmer. Interesting.

I mean TERRIFYING WHAT THE f***!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why Tapia 7th?

I guess to try and keep lefties separated if Biggio pinch hits for Whit or if JBJ comes in for Teoscar defensively and gets a PA?

Posted
And here's Jays lineup for today:

1. George Springer ® CF

2. Bo Bichette ® SS

3. Vladimir Guerrero ® 1B

4. Alejandro Kirk ® C

5. Teoscar Hernandez ® RF

6. Matt Chapman ® 3B

7. Raimel Tapia (L) LF

8. Danny Jansen ® DH

9. Whit Merrifield ® 2B

Probably would have put Whit in left and Espinal at 2b. Would be better defensively in both places and Espy can handle lefties pretty well. He might not be 100% though. And yes, I would not be carrying Tapia for this series. I would be running Merrifield in the outfield, Espy at 2nd and keep JBJ and Zimmer for defense and pinch running. We know we're facing Castillo and Ray in games 1 and 2 so putting Tapia anywhere near them is about as certain a strikeout as there is, and why bother keeping him around for game 3 if needed.
