If you watch the replay you will see Espinal taking two steps to his right when the ball was hit taking him out of position, if he didn't move it was an easy double play.

 

Because the runner broke to steal the bag?

I wonder how many players have gotten hits on 103 MPH fastballs. I can’t imagine its a very long list.

That ball to Rutschman was an easy double play if they weren't playing the massive overshift. When you have a guy who throws a 100 and situation where a guy is just looking to make contact, I'm not sure about the big shift there. It's probably just hindsight analysis though..lol.

They overshift all lefties basically. Doesn't matter the pitcher, situation, hitter...nothing. SHIFT

 

We might be the only team who will be better with a banned shift lol
