Probably as long as he keeps the offense to the fifth best hitting in the MLB.

f*** the fluff, we need it in high leverage and with RISP.

Something as simple as Berrios not being an absolute pumpkin for half his starts. Or Kikuchi giving us a fighting chance.

Yea, two just below average pitchers in the rotation is like 4 more wins. That’s before the bullpen.

Still a dangerous pitch to call again after he destroyed the previous one. Miss your spot and… THAT happens

I mean, maybe Benintendi was expecting a fastball after they just threw him a pitch which he crushed. The game theory of pitching and hitting just isn't that straightforward. Maybe Benintendi was looking fastball away to crush but instead adjusted easily enough to breaking ball down the middle.

Is it a good HITTING lineup? I think we know by now what this team is hitting wise. They lack patience. They are what they are. It’s not a great offense. It’s been all over the place all year. It is what it is. Hot or cold.

Jays have the 6th highest clutch score by fangraphs, 9th highest batting average with RISP.

Wow.. It doesn't feel like it though. Imagine if they were a bit more selective? Strange..

We have really good hitters with good approaches usually but they could be better. In other words, eye test wise it looks like guys are under performing their talent when it comes to plate discipline. Especially vlad.

Seattle losing, Rays won, Twins losing, Os/Sox match later.

TL;DR, if things stand - we'll be 8 GB of Yankees (from 16 GB a month or so ago) and all three current WC teams tied in WC standings.

We could have easily won this game, but 3/4 at Yankee Stadium is a big win.

You don't use your entire bench in 1 inning so early. Especially with the yanks bullpen.

I’ll take it. Just keep winning series over the next few weeks

Are you talking about using Biggio to PH for Espinal and then Springer brought in to PH for Biggio?

That was their best chance to score. Gurriel and Gurrero just choked.

It’s great they won 3/4. I just think this team has a country club type atmosphere and are too immature. They just play like it’s great if they win but it’s not a big deal if they don’t. When have you ever heard any of the players say all that matters is winning. It seems more often than not they say there is still time to turn things around. They are in a good spot it’s just that attitude I can’t stand.

Yes. You had to understand that JBJ would come up again. That was a spot for biggio or tapia. Biggio for espy there made no sense.

Its entirely to bait the matchup.

They moved Biggio to get a lefty/lefty matchup (Tapia would not have forced this simply because Tapia is a free swinger unlike Biggio and Loaisiga has shown no control) and then countered with Springer.

If they just straight up put Springer, I presume Loaisiga would've stayed in. He might not have had control to that point but he pitches fastballs in (that's his deal).

And as everyone in the league knows by now, Springer's weakness is fastball in or at least that's what they give him continuously to get him to groundout into DPs.

It was a pretty cool move and it worked in our favor.
