I feel like this team will make the playoffs. But I’m also not that excited about it. Does anyone else have a similar feeling or something wrong with me lol. It just seems like a team with this kind of talent should take off but most guys are having down years.

I agree. It's just not that good of a team. It's pretty good on paper, but they don't have the "it" factor. Crappy bullpen, spotty rotation, one dimensional offense, no roster depth ETC.

I really think people overreacted to the offense because of the games in those little league parks.

You are insufferable

I think Shatkins actually knew that this team wasn't going anywhere and that's why they just tinkered at the edges at the deadline.

Good point. The additions really weren't much of a vote of confidence. Might've been demoralizing for the clubhouse.

Maybe, but the farm system isn't really in the best position in terms of having top tier trade assets (other than Moreno), so increasing the floor of the roster a tiny bit was probably the only thing they could do realistically. They weren't going to be anywhere near a Soto trade, or even Castillo/Montas. The only realistic trade that I can think of that might have made a significant difference was Raisel Iglesias, but Atkins barely likes giving arbitration money to relievers. He wasn't going to touch that contract.

Walker , the mouth covereing , , pitching coach when he goes to the mound is disappointing ;as well as our batting coach . I think the only guy happy right now is Montoyo .

No fight in this team, when they go behind they stay behind.I am shocked the way this season is turning out.

Berrios absolutely sucks.

Another big money waste of time.

How come Pete Walker can't work his magic and fix Berrios? Or does Berrios suck too?

If you havent figured it out... the notion that Pete Walker is some Magician is probably my most hated Jays related topic lol.

Only dingleberries believe that s***.

Was in Seattle and Minnesota for 8 games combined … not a great finish for Jays …. but Biggio hit the ball as far as Guerrero and Bichette in batting practice … I know it’s batting practice and not a game … but he has a lot of potential …. As well as playing 4 positions .

Come on Spank, this team is grossly overrated by a lot of people here. You can say it comes with the territory, but being a fan of a team doesn't mean that one needs to wear rose colored glasses.

So many people talk like "gee so many batters have taken a step back this year", totally ignoring the fact that the team spent most of last year playing at home in those band-box minor league parks.

Are we even watching the same team? Jays very regularly come back and at least make these types of games close. Not today unfortunately

The Blue Jays were overrated this season, though that doesn't mean they still can't make the Postseason and possibly move on to the ALDS or ALCS. This is still a solid core who have underachieved thus far. There are a lot of homers and FO apologists on this board who still think this team is perfectly fine and nothing needs to be added. Some posters care so much about saving $ on the bullpen or transforming Kikuchi from a No. 5 into a No.3, they're missing the bigger picture here.

I don't have high expectations for them to go far into the Postseason if it started today, but who knows come end of September. If this team is playing hot, everyone is healthy and Berrios figures it out, then they have a chance in a short series.

Yea I would agree with that take. In a short series they are still dangerous. There’s also still time to figure it out collectively.

So which is it? Get off the fence, you might hurt yourself.

Ever stop to consider that those who don't complain non-stop that this team and FO is s*** may not be homers, but instead may just actually understand baseball and probabilities well?

I'm not saying everyone is, or that there aren't some homers on here, but some of you act like everyone who isn't ripping this FO constantly is a moron. Remember it's very easy to come on here and say "Kikuchi is s*** - everyone knew that - this FO is garbage" after the fact and pound your chest about how smart you are. These are the people that Mike Wilner had to deal with almost exclusively in the post game show when it was very obvious that the combined IQ of his callers (and the audience who listened to him and then complained about how awful he was), was 37.
