BlueJaysFever Verified Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Canadian Zach Pop. Hope other pieces include Pablo
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 My thought was Happ and a reliever to the Jays is probably a realistic outcome but if the Dodgers are involved (which I suspected they would be if they missed out on Soto), then not sure anymore. The Jays don’t have much in the system outside of Moreno and Tiedmann that I’d miss if they were traded so curious to see if they can get upgrades with other prospects involved.
ValiantJaysFan Verified Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 The Toronto Blue Jays are finalizing a deal with the Miami Marlins, sources tell ESPN. Shortstop Jordan Groshans is going to Miami. Zach Pop and others are going to Toronto. Pablo Lopez is not in the deal.
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Holy farts I wonder what this could be
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 imagine if it's just Groshans for Pop
ValiantJaysFan Verified Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Marlins are trading relievers Anthony Bass and Zach Pop to the Blue Jays for Jordan Groshans per source.
TRM Verified Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 How are you going to use Groshans and not get Pablo. Who else could make sense?
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Holy farts I wonder what this could be Lets just assume that Jazz is coming as well lol
ValiantJaysFan Verified Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Wow Atkins got bent over a barrel
lovemyjays Verified Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 imagine if it's just Groshans for Pop it literally is...
Ray Verified Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Also a PTNBL coming our way, apparently.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Marlins are trading relievers Anthony Bass and Zach Pop to the Blue Jays for Jordan Groshans per source. Lol welcome back Bass
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 That's f***ing awful. Atkins, you suck.

Shortstop Jordan Groshans is going to Miami. Zach Pop and others are going to Toronto. Pablo Lopez is not in the deal. So Groshan’s value is basically nil?
lovemyjays Verified Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Yeah maybe it was better to just stand pat.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 How are you going to use Groshans and not get Pablo. Who else could make sense? Numbers don't lie. Groshans suck and tu lo sabes muy bien
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Not a sexy move at all. Groshans kinda meh but still I would have rather made a bigger trade and sent more pieces to get better players back
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Wow, I know Groshans has zero power in the minors so that zaps a lot of his upside (unless he's fixable), but trading him for two relievers is kind of disappointing.
godJPA Verified Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Marginal BP upgrade for Groshans? Great deadline Shatkins!
metafour Verified Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Are you guys serious? Groshans is almost 23 has hit for zero power the past two years. It's not like he sports a .300+ BA either. If it's Bass and Pop for him, that's a great trade. Pop has lots of control.
max silver Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Not a sexy move at all. lovemyjays Verified Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 only reason im upset about this deal is because i expected groshans to be part of a package for a star player. it's a solid deal on paper. i think groshans is quite overrated.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Ha, I had mentioned Pop as a supplemental piece for our pen... However, Bass sucks and I hope much more on the horizon..

He has a .296 SLG%
RustyTrombone Verified Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 No pleasing you f***ers huh lol Bass becomes at worst our 3rd best reliever potentially even our best and Pop is a controllable reliever who throws gas and if we can get him to ditch the sinker and become a 4 seam guy he could takeoff and become a elite reliever.
