This is the second time facing Gonzales this season and they still can’t do much. Lost the last matchup

Does anyone else find it off-putting how the announcers keep talking about Kikuchi being injured? It's obviously a farce.

There's just something off-putting for me about pretending to be injured, even if it's only a procedural thing. It's just bad optics. There's gotta be a better way.

You guys are agonizing over the postioning of pitchers, none of whom were on any prospect lists. Castillo is probably not our lord and savior.

Who's saying he's the saviour?

He is clearly a better option than Hatch or Lawrence though.

Very puzzling decisions the Jays made starting pitching wise this past week.

I’d at least give him a start. Can’t be worse than Kikuchi or Hatch

Is really worrisome that this front office couldn't see it and cost the team. How can we see it and not Ross?

Without speaking of Manoah do the Jays have any quality relievers or starters currently with the team or in the minors that they developed themselves. Pearson has to be one the biggest disappointments league wide in the last few years. Wasn't he a top 5 prospect? Just seems like we lose one starter for one start and were pulling from the trash pile. Very scary

No one said that. I just mean that the minutiae of probably bad pitchers doesn’t really matter that much in the big scheme of things.

They are all employed by Rogers.

We do not have anyone in AAA (Hernandez is probably a good/great pitcher we have in AAA for relief and I am sure he'll make his debut at some point this season, esp if we don't get much in terms of relief pitching). We have promising af starters in A+/AA, who will be in AAA probably mid/end of next year.

True but you need to scratch and claw with what you have and they're not even doing that. Put your team in a better position to win, even if it's marginal.

Well he's not a bad pitcher. He's been steady all the way up the minor league ladder and is still just 23. Way rather see what he's made of than watch Hatch or Lawrence get predictaby throated.

That's all people are saying, no one is anointing him a savior.

Someone else mentioned it but Ross is an ex

-player… it’s almost like he values the aging/journeyman type players and wants to give them a shot over unproven rookies. He wants to give guys the shot that he never had as a player. Maybe something dumb like that.

Its probably better to have a nerd in charge that just sees numbers and not names.

Maybe… I mean he’s on none of the top 30 prospect lists as far as I know. He has very little pedigree. But guys like that do sometime pan out.

It's just ironic that we live in this hyper-sensitive society where political correctness rules above all else, yet they're totally comfortable to fake a physical injury and have everyone pretend it's so. It's a disgrace to people who actually suffer from debilitating injuries.

Its blatantly obvious roster manipulation. Maybe some players prefer the phantom injury to getting DFA’d though? That would be embarrassing i’d think for a vet.

I am pretty sure getting DFA'd would be the lesser of the embarrassments between his starts and how he went down to minors :P.

But if you DFA Kikuchi, officially, others would have a chance to claim him no? He has to clear waivers.

Yeah, I think the conversation goes something like, "Look we believe in you, but we think you need a break to work on some things, so we're going to IL you .....and you come back stronger than ever...."

Or "It's not you. It's me"

Man, Maximus has been lit.

All he gives up are solo HRs if anything 'cause he rarely walks anyone. f***ing legend.

Ok everyone.. If you can't see with your own f***ing eyes that Castillo is a far better option than Hatch or Lawrence, then there's no hope for you. Let's hear some more from Jim on how the difference between the three is negligible.

even if it is negligible (which it very well could be), Lawrence and Hatch are known variables theyre quad A guys for a reason. Castillo is younger and is still developing, baffling that he got passed for two older triple A starters first.

Are they even AAAA guys? Lawrence had a good run down there this year but...

Whoever made the decision to start f***ing Hatch against Rays, man...

Holy f*** you will write bible long posts defending them on pitching dev but you want to fire him over starting a pitcher in one f***ing game?

Lol, I love it! I’m here for this irrational energy.
