Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 I wish people would quit talking about the postseason like it’s a guarantee. iunno man, people here believe that Jays have wildcard locked and we shouldn't worry about dropping games to Orioles in June.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 Centre cut fastball to Robert. get him out of there Charlie
Blazeit420 Verified Member Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 Who else could we have gotten for Martin and SWR last year?
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 That’s crazy Makes todays pitchers seem like real Pussies Waa.
Dokken Verified Member Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 Berrios f***ing sucks ass. What a disaster that contract is. The contract is 7 years and $131 M, so that averages $18.7 M per season. If he could average 2 WAR per season, it is break even. But if he keeps going like he is right now, that is going to be a disaster. You have to wonder how much having all that guaranteed money has affected his play. Very few guys would not maybe suffer a loss in their competitive edge after cashing in.

Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 Everyone bashing Tapia pre-game, yet he basically had the two best ABs so far .

You say that like most big pay day contracts work out and are worth it. I don't believe that's true, but would accept some stats to prove otherwise.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 Berrios f***ing sucks ass. What a disaster that contract is. I’m not about to write off the contract in year 1, Berrios has a several season long track record of being good. Obviously bad year so far, but he’s 27 and I don’t think its crazy to say he’ll stabilize back to career norms

I may have overstated it by saying 'very few'. but there are many cases of players falling off at least temporarily after getting the big contract. Whatever Berrios's issue is, he better figure it out.
BuckHenry Verified Member Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 C‘Mon Jays , can’t let this bunch of Fatty McFatties beat us 😕
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 I hate to say it, but Phelps is smoke and mirrors.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 Pitching scuffling bigly lately, need the sticks to wake up.

The AL Central's been a dumpster fire for some time now.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 235, Nolan Ryan over 13 innings He must’ve only been pitching at 40%

I don’t know what that 1W-$10m thing represents, but it doesn’t represent actual market value
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 A week from now we could be 4th place in the East:(
Dagagad Verified Member Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 Phelps got kind of unlucky there but it would sure be nice to have some guys who can strike people out.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 K......... Ah lookie here. Sally Sunshine has come to save the day
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 A week from now we could be 4th place in the East:( No way? I was told we were the 3rd best team in AL.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 I wish people would quit talking about the postseason like it’s a guarantee. I still think the Jays make it when all is said and done, but yeah, the Rays and Red Sox could easily finish ahead of them and Cleveland is in a s*** stain division where they can beat up on bad teams all year. It’s not a given by any means.

It’s not a given by any means. Jays will make it if they can pull some substantial moves at the trade deadline. They need a front line starter, at least 2 power arms for the bullpen and ideally another big bat. If they only make some small additions, it'll be dicey... Maybe they'd still sneak in the playoffs but they wouldn't be a serious WS contender.

5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 wow, a gift on a silver platter for Vladdy. And people here always cry about an umpire conspiracy against the Jays haha
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
