Make me an offer for him in BORED ;)

Well I did label him as old and s***** so the offer would reflect that lol

14 team dynasty that favors pitchers. You need 8-10 to compete. I'm really scraping the bottom of the barrel here for my last couple but here are my options.

Chris Flexen

JT Brubaker

Erick Fedde

Zach Thompson

Justin Steele

Jeffrey Springs

Matt Manning (should be back next week)

Mitch Keller

I think there's a chance Springs is actually good. He has 3 pitches, TB is testing him as a starter, not just an opener, and his statcast page is a sea of red. I think they want him in a Rasmussen/Yarbrough role where they might let him go three TTO if he shows that he can still get people out after they see him twice.

I always feel like Brubaker should be good, but then he never is.

He could, I gave up on him in leagues I've owned him, his stuff is pretty good. Flexen has a pretty sick change also. It's such a fine line with these guys.

CD wouldn't know who to drop though? :P

Not going to lie. I normally do have a lot of consternation over making drops. I get in a paralysis by analysis loop on occasion, unless the decision is a clear no brainer.

Yeah I hate making drops. Especially this early in the season.

I started off horribly in this league. I won the regular season 3 years in a row but my team got off to an 0-4 start with Semien, Bo, Franmil and others off to such slow starts. I had to make a move to get a W so I ended up dropping Kikuchi thinking no one would bother with two matchups with the Yankees coming up. I got the W that week but someone did bother and now I'm having problems rounding out the backend of my 9 man rotation.

Yeah he's annoying. The K's are sexy but he just can't put it together. Playing for the anemic Pirates doesn't help either.

You even had a red flag at the time, I offered Jax. BTS took Wisler from me is why it's off the table for now. ;)

Does anyone here use Pitcher List? Great website although some of his rankings don't always make sense to me.

It's okay as a site to get a general idea of what you need to know. Not a bad site at all.

Is there a quick and dirty way to check how good a team's stolen base prevention is for any given game?

I have Myles Straw on my bench so it'd be useful to know if the opposing team's battery gives up a lot of steals or not.

team SB allowed

or SP time to home

Those are good ideas thanks. I noticed that Fangraphs does SBA/CS for Catchers and just SBA for Pitchers. Can kind of eyeball it that way but it's hard to tell unless you see some big outliers. For example, Syndergaard has given up 12 steals (the most in baseball by far) in just 30 innings.

But take tonight for example, Myles Straw batting leadoff against Mahle/Stephenson. Mahle has given up 4 steals on the year and Stephenson has 13SB and 6CS. I guess that would be considered kind of neutral?

I guess the other problem with trying to chase steals with Straw is that he can't hit righties but he doesn't get many steals off of lefties. Hmmm

Stolen bases are almost entirely off the pitchers these days

If catcher stats look different a lot of that is just their pitchers being worse at holding runners

Yeah I agree. If I look at anything I think I'll just check out the SBAs for the SP.

I offered Riley Greene for Grayson 1 for 1 in bbdl.

Guy needs a bat more than a pitcher, and I need pitcher more than a bat.

You’re lucky I’m working man.

Otherwise I would dig back into it and chart out what year and where I drafted Riley, how I acquired the pick, and if I was my own pick, what my record was

Do you guys ever carry two catchers in 1 catcher leagues? I've got Kirk and Garver right now in a 14 team dynasty and most people in this league carry 3 bench guys.

I could drop one of them and carry someone like Trey Mancini or Kolten Wong instead. What do you guys think? Seems like Garver could be useful if he gets his bat going he's probably going to be the everyday DH.

Use Garver in a package to upgrade a position

Garver + weak position for an upgrade

That's what I would be trying to do, then you just roster Wong or Mancini
