G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 If we tie this up and then lose in the bottom of the 9th I won't survive it

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 Chapman looks as cooked as Romano did last night.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 Ok and then he dials one up to 100 nevermind lol
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 Chapman looks as cooked as Romano did last night. Vlad has a chance
EdwinsParrot Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 The only thing worse than losing these games is that horrendous camera angle they keep forcing on us.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2022 Author Posted May 11, 2022 A Bichette Jack would be Sweeeeet! A Vlad Jack would be Sweeeeeeet!
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 f*** off with the stupid camera angle
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 Ok, we're going on a 20 game winning streak next... book it.
ValiantJaysFan Verified Member Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 Man something needs to change. Tapia and Zimmer both ought to be DFAed. There has to be someone in AAA that can do better than this garbage. Getting tired of big fat Kirk too.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 Nearing .500....did this team read its in press clippings and get over confident? Maybe time to make a few changes
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2022 Author Posted May 11, 2022 Is there a website or stat tracker that determines the toughness of a team's schedule to start the year? Would be real curious to see how our schedule stacks up against the Yanks. http://powerrankingsguru.com/mlb/strength-of-schedule.php https://www.espn.com/mlb/stats/rpi/_/sort/sos On the ESPN one click on SOS... to date, Jays have 2nd hardest schedule, Yankees are 20th

He should be added as a PR/Defensive replacement later in game. Not starting as much as he is. Kirk's starting to heat up... and it looks like Bo is too. Other than that, this was a s*** game for the Jays.
Buster Verified Member Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 Someone call me when this team does something useful.

As much as I don't care for 5'8 265 baseball players Kirk is the least of the problem right now, he can at the very least hit for contact. Collins, Tapia and Chapman are beyond reproach at the plate right now. Bichette and Gurriel need to get better and fast. I guess Gausman has been fun to watch...

Laika Community Moderator Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 But who is replacing them? I could see Zimmer cut loose once Biggio is back, then Biggio hopefully hitting enough to take corner outfield playing time away from Tapia.

Collins, Tapia and Chapman are the opposite of "beyond reproach" at the plate.

The problem with Kirk is moreso when he's on the bases. Lol
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 I think we will be ok. -Bullpen is regressing but I still think it will be a decent bullpen, probably league average with potential for more. -I'm still confident that the Offense will regress to the mean and will be at least a Top 10 offense by season's end. -Rotation looks to be pretty good even though some kinks need to be worked out. So even though Gausman won't be THIS good all year we will probably see better versions of Berrios, Ryu, etc. -The bench looks like s*** but remember Espinal is so damn good now that he's no longer a part of that unit. Getting Jansen back will mean no more Hiney-man (bc he's cheeks, get it?) and less of the other bats like Tapia so that will help too. Also: We are 17-14 with one of the hardest schedules played to date and one of the easiest schedules remaining. I'm never optimistic about a trip to the Trop but the pitching matchups look great and then the schedule REALLY opens up for some wins. Just flip through it really quickly and you'll see loads of games against the Orioles, NL Central, etc. and it basically starts on Monday and lasts the rest of the ENTIRE year. Seriously just look at it it's crazy. Unless the Red Sox get it going it doesn't really look like we'll face back-to-back series against winning teams on the road from here on out.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 Tapia had a -0.5 WAR heading into today and has a 39 wRC+ in 101 plate appearances after his 2 PA's today so far. I really want to see how far he can go until the team does something. Grichuk worth exactly 0.0 WAR so far this season Needed to make a large upgrade if the 4th OF was going to be playing a lot...
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 Compare this "annoying" start to their mediocre 2021 start.... in 2021 in the first 31 games they: - lost a series to Texas - lost a series to the Angels - lost 3 out of 4 to the Royals - split a 2 gamer with the Nationals - split a 4 game series with Oakland In 2022 the only real series-level fumble they've had is Cleveland. It's that + a couple of tough series against the Yankees including two one run losses. Looks so much better if you look at it series by series.
