Doubt he walks 4 batters, because no one is getting a hit on this team

So frustrating this team right now.

Springer doubled, Bo walked, Vlad singled, Teoscar singled to start the game. Espinal doubled later. So 27 outs and 1 hit

lol

I wonder if all these people who predicted the Jays heading to the WS from the AL this year would like a do over, this team will be lucky to even make the playoffs via that 3rd wildcard they added this year.

Team has been disappointing do far, awful series.

Team has been disappointing so far and they still have a 17-13 record against mostly tough opponents.

Gonna be super exciting when the bats finally wake up.

Long season boys, chill out. Team looked like s*** in May of last year and they still finished 91-71

So strange how this team went from having an absolute laugh in the dugout to moping around like a bunch of bums. Let’s get regrouped and head to NY and beat those mother f***ers.

Better be ready to hit the ball the opposite way

Yeah... but a 40-20 run in the last 60 isn't going to happen every year.

Not sure bats will wake up. Seems like this team isn't suited for the new offesnive environment.

This is silly, all teams are dealing with the deadball, better players will adapt. Our record is what it is by the SP, essentially, we'll be fine.

Reminds me of what you said after the series in KC last year

That the bats suck and there was no hope? I probably said that but that was after 18 games and this is 30 with deeper slumps.

After 30 games it's becoming significant.

Also great to see Hernandez finally back. His protection is amazing.

Vladdy, fully protected went 2/8 so far, only singles, still swinging at some bad pitches here and there... still looks to be 'pressing'.

Rest of team looked awful despite Hernandez's calming presence. 2 games too small a sample size for Teo the protector to show his impact?

Will the protector do his work in NY and Tampa? Will the jays be relaxed and actually win some of these? Or is 'protection' god-damn phony ******** and Jays will score 8 runs the next 5 games despite the protector being back?

You really do, do this every year early, people wanted a healthy Teo back, is that so bad? ... KEEP CALM AND GO JAYS GO!

I don't fault anyone for wanting Teo back, it's just the nonsense about Teo helping Vlad that gets me going.

I just looked it up on fangraphs and Vlad's out of zone swing rate is 38% this year, a career high.

If Vlad is going to be a great as hitter as he could be he can't do that for long periods of time. To put it in perspective Juan Soto's out of zone swing rate is consistently 20%.

So that would suggest he’s pressing? Lol. Could be a number of things between trying to continue last years pace, no Teo behind him, and the lineup struggling in general and trying to make something happen

Those were two people, and 1 was Baldilocks? Just pin them out.

The definition of pressing would literally being expanding your strike zone

I don't disagree that he's pressing, just disagree that Teo coming back is going to change anything.

Teo had some babip luck in 2021, that combined with the new ball, and some rust, makes it quite likely Teo is going to struggle himself.

Tough games this week, and if these guys are prone to 'pressing' it's going to be not a fun 7 days.

Guys are human, but it would be nice to see them have a consistent approach. Supposedly Jays have some high performance team that's suppose to help them have a consistent approach no matter which way the winds blowing. Hopefully they are on the job here.

No one's pressing aside guys fighting for their job... Teo's good, meat.
