Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 Jays, the Mariners of 2022, with their 8th 1-run win.
BlueJays Verified Member Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 Anyone here worried about Guerrero ? Seems way off and his numbers are down big time. Is he pressing or getting bad calls ? I do hope this turns around as the offender centres on him. Those borderline or bad calls are getting into him. Hopefully he turns around this May.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 Woohoo... take the series tomorrow Birds!
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 Great job Romano. Gotta keep him fresh! These close games are maddening
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2022 Author Posted April 30, 2022 George Springer 2 - Houston 1
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 Completely carried by pitching.. I'll take it And Springer man.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 LET'S GET THEM TOMORROW AGAIN! Da fuq U doin???
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 Tough schedule, offense and injuries have been an issue...14 and 8....good sign, they have not been close to playing their best ball.

He's still getting his hits, but pitchers aren't giving him easy pitches and he does seem to get some bad calls to start the year. He's a good hitter, I'm sure he'll adjust.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2022 Author Posted April 30, 2022 Have we had a laugher this season? We need one.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2022 Author Posted April 30, 2022 Da fuq U doin??? This gif should be under glass with a sign: Break Only For Series Win

Signal Verified Member Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 Thank goodness the pitching has been lights out for the most part this season because the offense is lagging behind. I know, that is true for most teams, but damn, the Jays offense has really struggled. That said, the Jays have managed a good start to the season. The three top starters look good....real good and the the top arms in the bullpen are bringing it. I do think that once Hernandez returns, the offense will begin to turn the corner.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 lol... I ended up liking it, that gif is the best.
JuniorFelix54 Verified Member Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 4 runs in 3 games and 2 wins doesn't happen very often. Thank God for Springer.. he's almost single handedly gotten them 2 of the last 3 W's along with obviously good pitching. It's pretty apparent this team has no depth at all, it's one thing to lose a star like Hernandez from the lineup, when your replacement is Bradley Zimmer that becomes an absolutely devastating loss.

Good/decent infield depth, decent pitching depth, but the OF depth is pretty bad. Could use 1 more solid/above average outfielder… someone like AJ Pollock or Conforto. Upgrade at the trade deadline.

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 Maybe Pollock, Conforto just had surgery and is out for the season I didn’t mean specifically those players, just players like that. I thought of those 2 off the top of my head, im aware Conforto is out for the year.

I am sure now that they discovered they can make Guerrero a little less effective by throwing pitches off the plate, they will throw it down the middle and make him better when Teo comes back. It's not helping that Guerrero is perhaps having calls go against him, but they are pitching him tough and just off the plate outside. I am sure they will continue the exact same strategy when Teo comes back, and it will be up to Guerrero to be a bit more patient if he's not getting anything to hit (and again Umps haven't helped).
JuniorFelix54 Verified Member Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 6th worst so far according to this site - http://powerrankingsguru.com/mlb/strength-of-schedule.php Yankees have it easy Rays opened at home with 4 vs. Baltimore, Yankees have already played them 7 times, Sox beating up on them this weekend. For some reason (because the schedule makers are idiots) the Jays don't see Baltimore until June 13th, by that time the other 3 teams will have played at least half of their 19 games against them.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 We play the Orioles something like 15 times from mid August on.
