Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 We play the Orioles something like 15 times from mid August on. Basically, when they bring up all their super prospects just in time to play kingmaker .
InsideThePark Verified Member Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 Anyone here worried about Guerrero ? Seems way off and his numbers are down big time. Is he pressing or getting bad calls ? I do hope this turns around as the offender centres on him. Entering today his wRC+ was higher than last year. I assume it went down some but still. Sure his OPS was 58 points lower but still over .900, and offensive numbers are down league wide. Proportionally to the rest of the league he's about as good as he was last year, perhaps a bit worse now after today's game

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 sucks, adley and grayson Fearing Orioles rookies is pretty low-T Jim. They could make a deadline deal with the Angels for Ohtani and Trout and we’d still thrash them.

Doesn’t seem like it but we’ve scored the 12th most runs in MLB so far this year and I’m pretty sure our underlying metrics are even better. I think things will start to pick up for us in May, Vlad included.

max silver Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 4 runs in 3 games and 2 wins doesn't happen very often. Thank God for Springer.. he's almost single handedly gotten them 2 of the last 3 W's along with obviously good pitching. It's pretty apparent this team has no depth at all, it's one thing to lose a star like Hernandez from the lineup, when your replacement is Bradley Zimmer that becomes an absolutely devastating loss. It would be awfully nice to have Josh Palacios back right now, he's been absolutely crushing in AAA to start the season. Between the Jays and Nationals AAA teams he's produced a 1.012 OPS with encouraging underlying metrics. I really didn't understand why he was DFA'd to start the season given the lack of outfield talent in the upper minors for the Jays.

max silver Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 We clearly needed Bradley Zimmer. We shall see if he survives on the roster after Teo comes back. I have no issues with him as a pinch runner/defensive replacement but he clearly has very little talent with the bat.

I forget the date, but the Jays should DFA anyone they might not want/need on the roster (and who they're fairly sure aren't top claiming priorities) on that day, as there will be so many players available, and just hope that most of them make it through.
