Don't even award W-L to pitchers. That's a team stat. Just measure them on all the other stuff that matters.

It sounds like Garrett Whitlock will be starting on Thursday against Manoah, so we will get 4 games of a pretty bad and lefty heavy bullpen without their best reliever. There's going to be some good hittin.

 

We might get bit facing Whitlock in game 4, but if it means facing the likes of Matt Strahm and Tyler Danish in key situations for the first 3 games then I'll take it.

Slumps are just more noticeable at the start of the season. They hurt just as much any other time in the season.

Tonight is just a bad example. There’s times when a pitcher gets key outs in the 6-8 inning range and deserves the W for their part. So I think the new way of scoring is more important than routine saves and holds actually. The old way was what was dumb. Just awarding a pitcher for the point they came in
