Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 Espy... with a dayoff, finally. Heineman does not need to be starting games.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 Heineman does not need to be starting games. I wholeheartedly agree.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 Heineman does not need to be starting games. If Kirk is unavailable - then the options were Heineman or Zimmer right? If Zimmer starts, then you can give Gurriel's hammy another day at DH or give Springer's legs a rest. I think I prefer that over this lineup....but again, we don't have most of the information they do.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 Borucki to the 10 Day IL with a blister... Vasquez joins his place...
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 6th seems like a weird spot for Tapia based on his hitting style and speed, but what do I know. Where would you want him, I'd have him 8th in todays lineup?
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2022 Author Posted April 27, 2022 We could really use a guy like Greg Bird to DH instead of having Heineman start.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 6th seems like a weird spot for Tapia based on his hitting style and speed, but what do I know. It's Montoya and his LRLRLR thing. You'd certainly want Chapman above Tapia in virtually all situations. Heinemans a switch too so Chapman could move up one, Tapia 7th, Heineman then Katoh or something like that, but ... honestly given the bottom half of the lineup right now it probably doesnt matter at all where they hit. Katoh 9th would be ideal IMO given that he takes a ton of pitches.
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 Borucki to the 10 Day IL with a blister... Vasquez joins his place... Poor guy can't stay healthy.
mellowgold Verified Member Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 Back to back starts in the infield for Katoh over Biggio. You know it's bad when you can't crack the lineup over a career minor leaguer.

mellowgold Verified Member Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 Where did he go? Must have missed that.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 Where did he go? Must have missed that. had symptoms so they have him on the COVID restricted list
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 We could really use a guy like Greg Bird to DH instead of having Heineman start. We need 3 catchers. Actually we might want to keep Heineman up when Jansen is back too. Can't be too careful with your catching situation!

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 I had to explain to my friend why our 3rd backup/4th string catcher was playing today lol... I'd need you to explain that to me. It has to be a minor issue with his arm.
max silver Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Borucki to the 10 Day IL with a blister... Vasquez joins his place... Gausman should share blister maintenance tips with Borucki.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 I had to explain to my friend why our 3rd backup/4th string catcher was playing today What did you come up with?
Signal Verified Member Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Offense is struggling and think Montoyo should juggle the lineup a bit to get it going. I think he should move Bo down to the 4th spot...that spot which I think he is best suited. I would move Vladdy up to the 2nd spot, and why he is not there already, god only knows. I think I would try and move Gurriel up to the #3 spot (eventually Hernandez's spot) to see if it might unlock something in Gurriel and get him going. And let Collins bat 5th. The offense has been sputtering, why not shake things up a bit and see what it might do to get guys going. Yes, the Jays are doing well in the standings, but it has been a combination of outstanding starting pitching, some really good defense coupled with some good relief pitching that has got them where they are. Offense needs to begin contributing in a more substantial manner and shaking up the lineup could not hurt at this point.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 What did you come up with? 1st catcher injured, 2nd catcher possibly injured or just sitting because our manager is dumn, 3rd catcher is DH because we don’t have anyone better right now I guess. Hence catcher #4 getting the start. Should’ve been Collins at C and Zimmer in the OF instead probably. But it didn’t really end up mattering in the end anyways. Bench is extremely thin. Definitely need to improve upon that at the trade deadline.

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Holy f*** that lineup is vomit inducing. Already we’re going to be in tough against Whitlock.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 If there was ever a time to move Espinal up and Bo down, it would have been today. Charlie’s lineup construction is truly baffling. I feel like half the members here could have constructed a better lineup where Tapia isn’t batting 4th
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Even just swap Tapia and Kirk and the lineup looks a lot better
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Where's the lineup? I can't see it.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Two of our starters are hurt right now. The bench looks a LOT better when Jansen and Teo are back. Yes but the bench still needs improvement IMO so the lineup doesn’t look like it does today when there’s an injury/rest day.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Gross. I don’t think we ever had a lineup look this bad last year.
