G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 So he's healthy enough for the Mets for 12 years?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 Are we sure this is legit??
Captain_Obvious Verified Member Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 f*** the Mets. This is getting out of hand.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 Carlos Correa agrees to 12-year, $315 million contract with Mets after Giants deal falls through By Jon Heyman December 21, 2022 3:09am Updated https://nypost.com/2022/12/21/carlos-correa-agrees-to-12-year-315-million-deal-with-mets/
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 f*** the Mets. This is getting out of hand. Didn't even need a SS Paid 315M for a second SS Edit: I know Correa will play 3B. It's just.... Fn nuts

Fn nuts It would be nice if the baseball gods would balance things out. How about Verlander, Scherzer and Carrasco all on the DL mid May...
xposbrad Verified Member Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 So their payroll with tax is now basically a half a billion dollars?
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 Alonso, McNeil, Lindor, Correa... what an infield
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted December 21, 2022 Author Posted December 21, 2022 Big news for all you Willians Astudillo fans out there...
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 Didn't even need a SS Paid 315M for a second SS Edit: I know Correa will play 3B. It's just.... Fn nuts Correa playing 3B would be dumb. He’s like a year removed from winning a Platinum Glove at Shortstop lol
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 Correa playing 3B would be dumb. He’s like a year removed from winning a Platinum Glove at Shortstop lol It's gonna happen though
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 Correa playing 3B would be dumb. He’s like a year removed from winning a Platinum Glove at Shortstop lol He has a stronger arm than Lindor/McNeil so it makes most sense to put him at 3rd
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 Giants basically have to sign Conforto now. I do respect the stones required to walk away because of concerning medicals though. The PR hit will be brutal. That's a huge financial commitment to a guy you have health concerns about before the ink dries.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 One has to wonder if the Giants simply used the health condition clause to walk away from a deal they decided was a bad idea. Were the Cubs / Braves / whoever really going to pay Correa something similar? Crazy.

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 Crazy turn of events. Mets are crazy.

Some solid guys still available like Conforto, Profar, and some pitchers/relievers, but all the elite talent is gone. Maybe Giants look at the trade market to make a big move. Definitely a big PR hit though. Imagine some fans who bought season seats or flex packs based on the Giants spending big money this offseason.

Well that's what I mean. Of course Correa has various minor issues that allow for the exercise of "sole discretion".

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 No, we are not saying the same thing. You are alleging bad faith. Yes, I am suggesting the Giants got cold feet and used the health clause and whatever conditions Correa has to walk away from the deal. Yes, bad faith. And I wouldn't blame them one bit. As other's have pointed out on this board, it is likely that by the time the Giants are good and can compete with the Dodgers and Padres of this world, Correa is a good ways down the aging curve.

Okay, but that's a batshit allegation. I don't think Farhan Zaidi got cold feet, man.
Ehjays Verified Member Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 I thought it was odd when the Giants cancelled their CC Intro to the press.
Laika Community Moderator Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 The other owners probably hate Cohen so much, lmao He refuses to be part of the price fixing cartel!
