The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2022 Posted April 8, 2022 I agree he should have taken it if he wanted to stay. It's just that most orgs don't release details like this for PR reasons. IYAM it probably lessens the chance he signs back at all now. Which maybe they're OK with. And maybe they want fans upset with the player rather than the front office when/if he walks. I think this is exactly it. Maybe it also sets up for a potential trade. Yankees have an aging roster, if they are a borderline playoff team at the trade deadline and have injuries to guys like Donaldson and Stanton, would they try to fetch some near MLB ready prospects for Judge? They could point to this offer and say they tried to sign him longterm but he's testing free agency.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2022 Posted April 8, 2022 Huge risk for Judge, a lot can happen in 2 years, and he is somewhat injury prone already He's a FA after this year I thought?
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2022 Posted April 8, 2022 He's a FA after this year I thought? Yup, he is
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2022 Posted April 8, 2022 People talking s*** about Judge meanwhile I'm thinking what the hell are the Yankees doing? They want to go full 1990 by 2025 I guess.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 8, 2022 Posted April 8, 2022 Fantrax says 2023, guess I'm not interpreting it right Yes that means that's the year he eligible to play anywhere as a free agent. So he can be signed this upcoming off season

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2022 Posted April 8, 2022 Fantrax says 2023, guess I'm not interpreting it right Fantrax? FG shows he's a FA in '23.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2022 Posted April 8, 2022 Hope Judge becomes a Mookie Betts situation for the Yankees. Would be great to get him out of the division.

What do we think of this? Decent extension? Crawford has put up some decent numbers and he seems to have a great attitude.

Hard to criticize.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2022 Posted April 8, 2022 Bellinger 0-4 but no strikeouts. Progress.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2022 Posted April 9, 2022 Bellinger 0-4 but no strikeouts. Progress. Do you feel more pressure on him, or JRod to perform?

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2022 Posted April 9, 2022 Yeah Judge is in crazy town. I mean, I can’t really blame the Yankees for tossing him under the bus because they did everything within reason (beyond reason) to keep him

Because yeah otherwise, he’s crazy to turn down a 200+ million extension.

BTS Community Moderator Posted April 9, 2022 Posted April 9, 2022 Really weird scoring in the Cubs game Thursday: - Chris Martin gets two outs to end the top of the 7th and leaves with the game tied - The Cubs take a 5-3 lead in the bottom of the 7th, and never relinquish it - Rowan Wick gets two outs in the top of the 8th and gets a hold - Givens finishes the inning and gets the W 99.99999% of the time Martin would get the W and Givens a hold
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 9, 2022 Posted April 9, 2022 Woodruff is completely imploding in the first inning vs. the Cubs
King Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 I trust we are all watching Verlander vs Thor tonight.

Scorers have more discretion?

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 Kyle Wright might be a breakout player
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 I trust we are all watching Verlander vs Thor tonight. Can't wait. I was watching the CLE game and always so strange to see Anthony Gose on the mound. Looked ok. Lots of FB. Topped out at 96. This Board talked about him endlessly back when he was a prospect.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 Kyle Wright might be a breakout player And he's out to pitch the 7th on a team with a stacked bullpen. 75 pitches??? edit - nvm, he's done
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 Didn't they change the wins rules? Scorers have more discretion? I have no idea, but that would explain it
