I agree he should have taken it if he wanted to stay.

It's just that most orgs don't release details like this for PR reasons. IYAM it probably lessens the chance he signs back at all now. Which maybe they're OK with. And maybe they want fans upset with the player rather than the front office when/if he walks.

I think this is exactly it. Maybe it also sets up for a potential trade. Yankees have an aging roster, if they are a borderline playoff team at the trade deadline and have injuries to guys like Donaldson and Stanton, would they try to fetch some near MLB ready prospects for Judge? They could point to this offer and say they tried to sign him longterm but he's testing free agency.

People talking s*** about Judge meanwhile I'm thinking what the hell are the Yankees doing? They want to go full 1990 by 2025 I guess.

I'm totally good with them having an old, slow, injured team and a 300m payroll......

Fantrax says 2023, guess I'm not interpreting it right

Yes that means that's the year he eligible to play anywhere as a free agent. So he can be signed this upcoming off season

Mariners are turning into an exciting team. Looking forward to watching Robbie pitch today.

What do we think of this? Decent extension? Crawford has put up some decent numbers and he seems to have a great attitude.

Seems well-liked in Seattle and should put up 2-3 wins a year for them. Hard to criticize.

Yeah Judge is in crazy town. I mean, I can’t really blame the Yankees for tossing him under the bus because they did everything within reason (beyond reason) to keep him

Someone pointed out that the Yankees may have had a stipulation that he get Vaccinated and that could possibly have been the hiccup in the deal.

Because yeah otherwise, he’s crazy to turn down a 200+ million extension.

Judge wants 9/10 @ 36AAV. lol

He's going to be a DH in his mid 30s, what's he thinking?

I can't fathom that there's a team giving Aaron Judge a $360M contract covering his age 30-40 seasons.

Really weird scoring in the Cubs game Thursday:

- Chris Martin gets two outs to end the top of the 7th and leaves with the game tied

- The Cubs take a 5-3 lead in the bottom of the 7th, and never relinquish it

- Rowan Wick gets two outs in the top of the 8th and gets a hold

- Givens finishes the inning and gets the W

99.99999% of the time Martin would get the W and Givens a hold

Didn't they change the wins rules? Scorers have more discretion?

Woodruff is completely imploding in the first inning vs. the Cubs

Burnes and now Woodruff… their rotation SUCKS rite

I trust we are all watching Verlander vs Thor tonight.

Can't wait. I was watching the CLE game and always so strange to see Anthony Gose on the mound. Looked ok. Lots of FB. Topped out at 96. This Board talked about him endlessly back when he was a prospect.

Kyle Wright might be a breakout player

And he's out to pitch the 7th on a team with a stacked bullpen. 75 pitches???

edit - nvm, he's done

I have no idea, but that would explain it
