I hope Stroman re-signs with the Mets honestly. They will never be good and he will have spent half his career pitching for the second fiddle team in his home town

This kid is such a clown.

He's just blind to the fact that he's a total asshat on social media. He'd be so much better off if he toned down the self cheerleading and bravado even by half.

MLBTR:

Gausman has long been on Toronto’s radar, as the club had interest in the righty in each of the last two offseasons. Last winter, the Jays reportedly offered Gausman three years and around $40MM before he opted to bet on himself by accepting the Giants’ qualifying offer — a very wise move in hindsight, given what Gausman is now poised to earn this offseason.

Can we please ban all Jon Morosi tweets?

The guy is a complete hack. A shitmonger.

He has found a niche of linking every single player to the Blue Jays. I can't stand the guy.

I knew Stroman was a douche from the first time I saw him moonwalking on the mound after a k lol

I agree, what a stupid clickbait Tweet by him, "The Jays and Gausman have discussed multi year deal" like NO s*** SHERLOCK and here is another one ....ready....."Other clubs involved"

He knows Gausman is a hot topic and knows the Jays have a HUGE following so he puts out pathetic s*** like this.

I see nothing wrong with the post.

Yeah, I mean it’s similar to what he posted about the Yankees passing on him a few years back, and that aged well.

I don’t really like Sto’s antics but honestly he’s the best type of guy to bet on. I mean nothing is guaranteed, especially with pitchers, but no matter what this dude get in FA, he’s going to still have a huge chip on his shoulder and keep working

Well to be fair, stroman broke news that no one's talking to him so it's not like everyone has teams after them. Even if it's click bait, I enjoy seeing news about free agency lol.

This offseason might be our biggest in determining how great our team is for years to come. These contracts will be for the longhaul so no more kid gloves anymore.

gausman is going to be huge cancer if we give him 5 year contract. we can offer him only 1 year contract . we have yankees , tampa and redsox on our devision so players like Aaron Judge always will hit homerun against gausman ..

Cancer doesn't seem like the right word here.

Now whether he can be a teams 1/2 pitcher for long term in this division is another story. There aren't many of those walking around to be honest. Our management does seem to have a hard on for Gausman so let's see how it goes.

Gausman is a good pitcher. Depending on the contract one we would love to have. Huge upgrade to Matz in 2022 imo

If the Jays do get Gausman, I wonder if they still keep trying to bring Ray back as well?

Running with the same rotation they finished with, but replacing Matz with Gausman would be pretty damn sweet on paper. Especially if Ryu were to bounce back from a bad 2nd half.

Ray

Gausman

Berrios

Manoah

Ryu

I’m sure it’s been debated on here but I missed out on the fun. If it’s Ray or Gausman around the same terms, who do you choose? I have to go Ray. A little riskier as a smaller sample size of elite pitching but the upside is higher. Gausman returning to the AL East is a bit scary

I would be perfectly happy with either, but I would be tempted to go with Gausman. He has a little longer track record at the current level of performance and wouldn't require giving up a draft pick, whereas Ray leaving would bring back a compensation pick which ultimately increases the draft budget for the team and allows for more creativity.

7 years? Man, good for you Marcus. Bet on himself and it paid off big time.

We'll glad it's a s*** team we don't really compete with

I was about to post pretty much this

Yes

Gaussman if all else is equal

f*** I was really hoping the Jays were able to bring him back as he was arguably their best player on a team with a loaded offence.

Maaannn... why is a s*** team like the Rangers taking our guy away from us :(

It sucks to lose him

But better than him going to teams we have to worry about beating like NYY SEA or HOU

Texas was so s*** I don’t even think they have to surrender their first round pick to sign him.

The Rangers aren't done. Even though they got Marcus Semien, they're still in the Trevor Story sweepstakes. They went into this winter with money to spend, they got a whole lot better with Semien and now they're targeting more offense as well as starting pitching.
