Looks like Jays are out, they were driving up the money...

Freeman just doesn't make sense at all for the Jays. I mean, don't get me wrong, he'd add a GREAT bat to the lineup, but would also severely limit roster flexibility...

The Braves signed Albies and Acuna to sweetheart deals and aren’t sure they can give Freddie year 6? Embarrassing

Yeah, never made any sense.

Pujols playing baseball in 2022 is beating a dead horse with a stone from which you've already sucked all the blood.

Johnny Cueto market is heating up. Could go fairly quick, Not a ton of good starters left so those that are should do very well. At least half the teams could use another starter.

High-powered reliever Joe Kelly has agreed to a 2-year contract with the Chicago #WhiteSox. The deal will be final when he completes a physical.

Familia to the Phillies. Really hope Freeman signs tonight. The Dodgers or Braves please. No to the Yankees!

Either way, it's Freeman or Correa. :P

How many elite bullpen arms do the White Sox need. Give us one of them man

Did you see Gas Can Kelly pitch when he was in this division? I'm happy that we get to face him more often.

Kelly has become a pretty good reliever during his Dodgers tenure. He would have been a nice leverage piece for the Jays pen that's big on middle and back end relief but a little light on dependable leverage arms.

I'm unconvinced that he was the answer to our problems in that regard, especially for 17 million.

Even with the Dodgers he seemed to have a knack for unraveling in the biggest situations. That's why they mostly used him in mop up work throughout his tenure.

I'm hoping the Villar move is with the intention of adding depth in the event that one or both of Biggio/Espinal falter and not a stop gap option for one of the starting infield spots.

Héctor Gómez

@hgomez27

UPDATE: A person very close to Jonathan Villar told me that Villar hasn't rejected the Blue Jays' offer. In addition to the Blue Jays, Red Sox and Dodgers continue to show interest in him.

Holy s*** Gomez, Get your s*** together. Why does Ross want this guy.

I'd much rather Correa go to the Yankees. He's hurt a lot. His personality and ability to stay on the field, really does fit in with the Yankees.

The Villar hate is ridiculous.

It's not hate, it's not understanding what he would bring to the Jays as the roster is currently constructed. If we needed a bench infielder, I'd be fine with Villar, but we do not.

Sir the Jays need an infielder and Villar is a projected improvement

Error no he's not actually. Just looked.

He would be a good depth addition though

Kevin Smith, Biggio, and Espinal are all cool dudes

I kind of want all of them to have a reasonable chance to steal a starting spot

But I dont want to two of them to be starters by necessity

Thats why Villar fits a bit
