G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 25, 2021 Posted September 25, 2021 Team chaos. Wouldn’t it be crazy if the wildcard ended up Seattle vs Toronto somehow?? Lol definitely a pipe dream I'd hit Seattle in a heartbeat to see it LOL
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 25, 2021 Posted September 25, 2021 To be honest, without Montoyo we win the division. Never seen so much incompetence from a manager over a season. It sucks Manager and bullpen cost so many games rhe first half especially
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2021 Posted September 25, 2021 It sucks Manager and bullpen cost so many games rhe first half especially Dolis blew like 3 games to Boston in the span of 10 days, and Chatwood blew several games in the same week at a different point. There was a span against Seattle and Washington where we lost a handful of close games and Romano was barely used. Charlie definitely cost us at least 3-4 wins and you can’t convince me otherwise. EDIT: I also recall that 4 game sweep at home vs Tampa. That was a brutal stretch of bullpen management

Effit Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2021 Posted September 25, 2021 I may need an exorcism after cheering for the Red Sox.
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2021 Posted September 25, 2021 Red sox f***ing suck. They will get demolished in the wild card game.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2021 Posted September 25, 2021 Stanton grand slam. If we don’t get in I’m going to look back at that game both DJL and Greaseball both K’ed but got 3-2 BBS before Judge hit a dong. That game was over. Kicked off this run they are on. More Ump show ********.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2021 Posted September 26, 2021 Seattle losing 14-1 in the 7th, looks like they’ll fall to 3 games back. Jays at 2 games back. If the Jays can win tomorrow, they’re guaranteed to be 1 game back from the wildcard spot due to the Yanks/Sox playing each other. Still in this. Win tomorrow.
Franegeta Verified Member Posted September 26, 2021 Posted September 26, 2021 I never liked the baseball playoff format it was even worse in past only 4 teams when blue jay won back to back that was brutal New York alway buy their way into playoff we got luck New York was trash those years, anyway Instill think it could of be 8 each from side each American and National like last year it was Great having every team chance to get in World Series
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2021 Posted September 26, 2021 I guess we have to cheer for the Red Sox tomorrow because realistically it gives us our best satistical chance of making the playoffs. But I would much rather play the Yankess in the Wild Card game over the Red Sox. Interesting times. All the Jays can do is win. They still control their own Destiny at the moment.

Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted September 26, 2021 Posted September 26, 2021 Jays need to win tomorrow. (Duh) Also, it would be best if the Red Sox would win because then the Jays would be only 1 game back of the Yanks when they start the series against them. Win 2 out of 3 and they'd be tied going into the final series where the Jays play Baltimore and the Yanks play the Rays.
InvincibleTiger Verified Member Posted September 26, 2021 Posted September 26, 2021 Rays clinched the division. Are they now playing for best record in AL? Does that mean we should be cheering for the Astros so the Rays play hard every game til end of the season?

I like the odds of at least forcing game 163 if we are tied going into the Orioles series.
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2021 Posted September 26, 2021 Hard pass on "lets have over half of all teams in the post season." its so f***ing awful, even made worst that every single series in the NHL and NBA playoff is 7 games. Yuck.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2021 Posted September 26, 2021 its so f***ing awful, even made worst that every single series in the NHL and NBA playoff is 7 games. Yuck. I don’t follow the NHL but the NBA, who was already facing a severe drop off to their #8 seeds, are pushing for more seeds and basically 2/3 league is in. It’s awful
BlueJays Verified Member Posted September 26, 2021 Posted September 26, 2021 It sucks Manager and bullpen cost so many games rhe first half especially Don't forget when Montoyo left Chatwood too long to prove a point and cost us the game. What a s***** manager. I can't believe he got the full support of the front office.

Much prefer the baseball format where only the elite teams make the post season. Was a complete joke last year that the Habs made the Stanley Cup finals literally only because they had a hot goalie. I think the current setup is a good balance, the only thing is I wouldn't mind the wild card being a best 2/3 instead of winner take all. The new wild card format is much better then under the 1 WC system we had before, gives more importance to winning your division.
