I had a feeling that Twins comeback would spark them on another run. All because the ump blew strike 3 to Gardner.

They're playing the Orioles.

Tyler Wells wasn't good, but he deserved better. The Yankees got 2 bloop hits in the 9th. That is including 2nd and 3rd 1 out... where instead of 2 out and no sac fly, it unluckily finds the spot where no one was playing. The Yankees have been lucky a lot this season. They are really outperforming their Pythagorean. Like they don't have enough advantages already.

He meant the last series when the ump sucked Gardners balls and gifted him a few extra pitches instead of calling strike 3, allowing the Yankees to win and now they’re on a roll.

The announcers in the Cards / Mets game are drooling over the Jays. They've spent most of this inning talking about them and ignoring the game.

Lol which broadcast and which inning? Might actually watch it on MLB TV. I always love it when other teams announcers gush about us.

Minor gripe, but why the f*** does MLB put the f***tard yankees and their pathetic +34 run differential and 6-10 record against the Jays ahead of the Jays in the standings when they have identical records?

Alphabetical?

I think that they put the team with the most recent game completed at the top of the standings for whatever reason.

Whatever the reason is, Toronto should be ahead of them because Toronto has the h2h tiebreaker. So if they both finished in a two-way tie for the top WC spot, Toronto would get homefield advantage.

Updated WC race tracking sheet

Yankees turning it on against weak competition.

The SEA-OAK four game set that is one series out could all but eliminate one of them from contention.

If you look at Oakland's slate as a whole, they kind of had to destroy Texas and the Royals and they choked.

I am looking forward to cheering for Cleveland against NY and the Mets against Boston.

Toronto succeeds at getting past one of their two TB speed bumps.

The positive of the new 28 September roster limit is the Rays should still be playing a lot of their regulars in that last series vs NY instead of all backups which they could have if they had their full 40-man roster to work with.

Looking at the remaining schedules, I think the WC game is either going to be Toronto/Boston (most likely) or New York/Boston (if Buntoyo starts impacting games again). That Jays/Yankees series in 2 weeks probably decides it. The Red Sox have 6 against the tanking O's, 3 against the tanking Nats, and 2 against the dumpster fire Mets. The other 3 against the Yankees. I would love for them to falter the rest of the way but I just don't see that happening. After that it will depend on how the Jays and Yanks do. The Rays hate the Yankees so I'm confident they will try at the end of the season if it meant knocking the Yankees out.

It would be infinitely more in the Rays self interest to let up against the Yankees vs playing them super tough as the Jays are a far stronger first round playoff opponent.

Looking at it like that we'll want a Redsox sweep when they play the Yankees.

Hell, I'm still hopeful that we will be cheering for the Yankees for that series ;)

Or maybe it's because they faced a bad team that they were expected to beat 65-70% of the time.

The two teams/managers legit don't like each other based on recent BS that happened between the two teams, so I don't think they'd roll over for them. Plus as mentioned with the 28 man roster they're going to have to use their best guys anyway.

Hopefully the Jays continue to take care of their own business so they won't end up relying on out of town scoreboard help to squeak into a wildcard spot.

Please just win one game Baltimore. Not asking for much. Yankess aren’t even that good.
