I can't believe this series. The Tigers scored three runs during regular time, with one being unearned on what would have been the last out in the last game. And the bullpen can't even dumb luck themselves out of an implosion in extras.

Cannot even blame the bullpen bro....offense not getting it done.

I’m done. This team isn’t fun to watch anymore. Their record should be waaay better than it is.

why do you say that? they aren't that good. average-ish team.

People rightfully blame Charlie, because he sucks. But the team is nowhere near close to competing. I think Shatkins knows this, so they made some window dressing moves at the deadline and will continue on with their build. The real shame is not being sellers at the deadline. The org long term was hurt by the Jays early over-performance.

Talent and run differential tells you why he'd say that. You're stupid if you believe that, seriously.

The team is a not-as-injured and decent bullpen away from competing.

I’ll see your 3 and raise you a sweep

Sounds good! We've gotten to the playoffs with less hope. It's why I know hope is the bell.

Trade not looking good. Sure we have Berrios next year but if we don’t retain Ray or replace him with an equivalent- that would cancel it out. Otherwise, no Berrios we might not let Ray walk. We’ll see how it plays out… Also for one year it might’ve been too steep a price

It HAS been fun to watch this summer but the time has come. Still 1 or 2 years away. Need serious relief pitching. Lordes is a clown and should be shown a different stage. Montoya is a joker as well. I really liked Riley.

Question of the day

Bo, Vladdy, Teoscar, took a big step forward this year

Ray, Semien outstanding seasons.

But are the Jays better this year or last?

And will they be better in 2022??

Definitely better this year than last. As for next year, offense probably not as good but hopefully the bullpen is better.

Kinda sucks that we wasted a great offense and great rotation with a god awful bullpen this season.

Better this year, obviously. Last year was a SSS joke. Next year we'll be much better.

Martin sucks. Can’t hit for contact, can’t hit for power and can’t field. If it weren’t for recency bias due to his draft position, no one would be talking about him.

SWR will be lucky to have a SRF career.

We’ll see. Reports seem to be his swing is f’d. During season isn’t time to tear it all down. Next year will prob tell more

The offense has completely disappeared for this team. Vlad jr regularly swinging at balls not even close instead of taking the walk

8 walks in the last 10 games

I still can’t believe that f***ing play in the 9th.

Semien boots the throw on one of the easiest most routine plays ever, and Vlad does a terrible job missing the short hop/scoop. And they had so much time too.

Why why why why why. f***.

Give this garbage a rest, it's seriously tiring. This team is a reliable bullpen away from being a true contender. They have gone through most of the year with only one or two reliable relief options, they have a dipshit manager with zero tactical acumen who has cost them several wins, have missed their star center fielder for most of the season, received next to no offence out of the catcher, third base and left field positions for much of the season, had only a few decent rotation options to start the year, and have one of MLB's youngest position player cores. Despite all of these disadvantages they are still within striking distance of a wildcard spot. This isn't an aging, past it's prime team, it's a young squad who is on the rise. Tearing the wind out of their sails at the trade deadline when they are still competing for a playoff spot would send a very poor message to cornerstone players like Vladdy Jr. and Bo Bichette when it comes to signing them long term.

If you are going to whine and moan about the front office attempting to reinforce a highly talented team at the trade deadline then maybe you should find another sport. The time to hoard prospects has passed, this team is in it's contention phase now. Trading away Ray and Semien before they even have had a chance to play in Toronto as members of the home team would likely impact their chances of retaining either guy moving forward. The team as constructed is very strong in the position player core and starting rotation. Add some better bullpen options and this team would likely be battling for the division.
