I would have never been comfortable giving Stroman a big contract anyway. I prefer top of the rotation arms to be swing and miss types over pitch to contact guys. I feel your best starters should be elite at missing bats. And those are the types I would want to pay. You don’t always get exactly what you want though. Stroman is having a really good year. I just feel those guys can get BABIP’d to death in playoff starts. And the no contact guys stay dominating more often than not.

I dunno. Would Roy Halladay and Chris Carpenter still be considered the elite of the elite these days? Or would they be coached to miss more bats.

I think Roy Halladay said this himself. He could strike out way more guys if he wanted. But he wanted to stay under 100 pitches and go all 9. In this era he probably would have tried to miss more bats. He still put up great strikeout numbers despite being a guy who said he pitched to contact. He really was that special tho.

When Chris Carpenter was good he got plenty of strikeouts for the era. He and Halladay also didn't walk anyone, and in the latter's case his strikeout rate actually increased significantly as his career went on. When a guy is putting up 6+ WAR consistently you don't really care about how they get it done.

When was the last time a Jays starter threw a CG?

Complete 9 inning game would have to be Stroman in 2017. I think Ryu has a complete game loss but it was 8 innings. And he also has a complete 7 inning game.

One of the hecklers behind us got shot down, lmao. Two girls with dirty blonde hair came and took the empty seats in our section and immediately started taking selfies and Instagram story videos and this dude walks down to them and asks them if he wants them to take a picture of both them. They're like nah we're good, lmao.

His buddy's like "you had to take your shot, eventually someone will say yes." Guy who got shot down was salty. Started complaining about how they have fake hair hahaha.

Some hilarious s*** always happens near me whenever I go to the game.

McGuire with another great AB.

Reese's Pieces good AB again

Let's hope we don't see Jansen take another at bat for this team again, especially with the fact we may see Moreno at some point next year.

And at this time last year he was all but forgotten about by most.

Relievers eh?

Nobody has forgotten about Mayza, except for casuals.

I meant this time last year.

I remember asking about him in the off season and some here didn't think he was even Jays property anymore.
