Baseball as a sport has too much break in actual action. What the hell else are they going to talk about? Lol

I agree. It's okay in baseball for the TV announcers to just shut up for a minute and let the game happen. Not every gap in the action needs to be filled with worthless chatter

When I had to get up at 5:30 AM, I slept to Vin Scully, like every night...

There was a time and place for his style. It just wouldn't work today where people need to be entertained for every second.

When bucko is well into his cups his California twang comes on strong.......velAcity.....pap fly...pap up

Some names give him problems too,,,,,,,,like encarnashun....encarnacion

Having listened to him for decades I try to find humour now

Tabby always sounds constipated or bad acid reflux

There definitely was too many cooks in the kitchen for that broadcast. It got annoying at times but I can see why they are doing it. All the advanced stats, the constant talking. They are trying to appeal to the younger crowd. Not sure how many young kids are going to watch a 5+ hour baseball game broadcast, but I enjoyed it.

Untrue. The only reason anyone thinks this is because they're tunneling on Vin Scully's old timey voice. He was a lot more than just his voice.

Anyone who could provide the broadcast with endless content and tell people stories they haven't heard before about the people on the field would go over well in any generation.

It was so relaxing to kick back and watch a game called by Vin Scully, just a treasure. And really love his stories from the past, but he never missed a beat and called a great game with no one interrupting.

are you referring to the youtube broadcast?

IMO, they need to start using advanced stats and weed out the old farts who love citing how good Grichuk is because of RBI's. MLB has also doing a better job lately with the Google for their MLB shorts. I think it's slowly happening. I certainly get my around baseball / highlight updates from Facebook/IG now. I also love the Jays in 30 setup. My 5 year old watches that s*** like 2-3 times every morning too.
