Bunch of f***ing liars this front office is. We all could guess he was going back on the DL as soon as he wasn’t in the lineup for game 1 in Oakland

Yeah I really don’t get what the smoke screen was for. Not like it’s the NFL and you’re trying to keep injury report close to the vest. I don’t think it fooled anyone, so curious to know what their objective was

Why do they even put so much money into sports science if they're going to do stupid stuff like rushing him back just to DH despite still dealing with the injury.

My issue is he aggravated things and they took him out of the game and it took 3 days before they did an MRI. We could have used an extra body the last couple days.

I can't help but think that outside influence (media/fans) played a factor during this whole debacle. I'd like to thing the injury just created a hazy situation that was tough to navigate but why would they lie about the "fatigue" excuse? That part was to obviously save face.

 

-Hurts his oblique. Then he hurts his quad as he's nearing a return. Media and fans getting really antsy at this point.

-Plays full intrasquad games but then they didn't call him up during that Tampa series even though they teased like he might. Why tease his return? That whipped everyone into a frenzy.

-Then they finally bring him back but he's a DH only? If he's not ready for the field then why bring him back? Could it have been to appease the fans/media after teasing that he was coming back?

-Then as a DH he basically wins us that game he hit 2 homers in but later on he starts grabbing at his leg a couple of different times. He has the awkward flailing AB and is removed right after for "fatigue" which we all knew was BS when the excuse was given.

-Then rather then putting him on the IL and getting another bat up here (Tellez was optioned bc of Springer and can't come up for 10 days) they run the "fatigue" excuse again. So we run a two man bench for one game and have installed Joe Panik as an everyday player yet again, even getting him starts at 1B.

-Why make up the fatigue excuse? Seems like because they didn't want to admit that they rushed him back too quickly until they had to.

 

What a mess!

You know the vast majority of players reach free agency at 30 right.

Compared to most teams athletic trainers. Yes. Our current one is 300+ pounds
