Phillips messed up that play bigly, A's and Trivino looking to close it out. And the O's can't close out the Yanks... :P

F U Kiermaier!

Mullins hits a fly ball, really not that deep, but Hicks makes an atrocious throw to home.

Urias safe by a mile, Orioles walk off the Yankees and secure the series split.

Janks really should have walked Mullins. Not only is the guy one of the hottest hitters in the majors, it would have put the double play into effect and given them more of a chance to get out of it.

Inexcusable throw from Hicks either way.

Is Carlos Rodon developing into an ace?

Sure looks it on trafitional numbers, lol. The underlining numbers have him being fairly lucky. He once was a 3rd overall pick. This has been a decent game so far.

It's early days but I think there may be something to this. His FB velo is the highest of his career and up 2MPH from last year. His K:BB ratio is also the best of his career which is being fueled by the best walk rate he has ever had, and you can even argue that his control has been better than the numbers suggest because 5 walks came in a single outing. I'm also encouraged by his expected stat cast ERA (3.06) which takes exit velo and barells into account. More than anything though, he just looks more like the guy he did in college who had a plus fastball and a putaway breaking ball.
