Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2021 Posted April 10, 2021 Pearson rocking the chin diaper lol
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2021 Posted April 10, 2021 do I "here" myself? Come on dude, why would a professional athlete want to take an experimental vaccine? These are the healthiest people on the planet. It is so they are allowed to do whatever they want off the field. The covid restrictions no longer apply to them. Players are being coerced into getting the vaccine that way.
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2021 Posted April 10, 2021 every pitch to Kirk is high
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2021 Posted April 10, 2021 Looking forward to seeing Matz pitch tomorrow!
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2021 Posted April 10, 2021 This guy throws actual strikes maybe 25% of the time. Quit swinging.
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted April 10, 2021 Posted April 10, 2021 Matz looked great the first time out. Will be telling to see how he fares against this scary Angels lineup
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2021 Posted April 10, 2021 This Jonathan Davis guy is an absolute abysmal Baseball player. If I was Kirk I would be extremely embarrassed he’s hitting ahead of me in the lineup.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2021 Posted April 10, 2021 So who gets a hit first... Tellez or Kirk lol
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2021 Posted April 10, 2021 I haven't read one post in this GDT (and don't plan to), but fully assume it looks like this.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 10, 2021 Posted April 10, 2021 FWIW the Yankees have a losing record too
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2021 Posted April 10, 2021 FWIW the Yankees have a losing record too And a SS that can't play defence
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2021 Posted April 10, 2021 I haven't read one post in this GDT (and don't plan to), but fully assume it looks like this. Yup don’t bother
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2021 Posted April 10, 2021 And a SS that can't play defence True, Gleybar really looks like he can’t handle SS. I believe we’ve seen a large enough sample size of his defence though, he’s got 315 games under his belt. (Only about half of those at SS) The Yankees will probably trade for a SS at the deadline if he can’t pull it together. Bo has played a total of 82 major league games. Yeah he looks kinda bad, but lets at least give him 1 full season before moving him off SS. We’re not as far along in the rebuild as the Yankees are, and even they were willing to give Gleyber another shot.

I'm sure the kid isn't pressing at all.

I'm sure the kid isn't pressing at all. That’s kind of what bench player and extra Outfielder needs to be able to do. He’s never going to be a starting Outfielder in this league. He’s about as fringe as it gets and the only reason he’s here is due to his speed.
leaffie Verified Member Posted April 10, 2021 Posted April 10, 2021 Bostons pitcher rodriguez would disagree. Covid left him with serious health issues.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2021 Posted April 10, 2021 Doesn’t Bichette check off all the boxes as a SS though? Other than some bobbles, he has the glove, range and arm, no? Yeah seems to mostly be bobbles and mental errors. I think we should at least give him this season at shortstop and evaluate in the offseason. He’s only got 82 games in the majors...
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2021 Posted April 10, 2021 One of my office staff got COVID last November. Still having significant health issues. She's 43.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2021 Author Posted April 10, 2021 When you make signings like Springer and Ryu, you'd like to capitalize on their primes. That's the unfair position our young guys are being thrown in. Tough to find the balance between what's best for this team in 2021 vs what's best for the player in the long run. I'm talking about that particular play where Bo went to 1st when he should have thrown the ball to 3rd and other times where he bobbles the ball preventing tailor made double plays. These are plays where he is recording outs and does not get dinged officially in the scorebook. lol... you clearly don't get how advanced staffs work. At all.

Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2021 Posted April 10, 2021 AAAAaaarrrghhh get your shot or else, lol. J-24 dumb as f***! You should figure out the difference between hear and here before calling anyone else dumb as f*** lol. And I was responding to a person saying why would healthy ball players be getting covid shots. Coerced was probably a bad word to use... more like incentivized. There was a report out a few weeks ago about how so many NBA players didn't want to get the vaccine. Then the NBA came out and said players who didn't would need to be tested daily and would still have to follow strict protocols. Players who got them are practically free to do whatever they want. Those incentives give a lot of reason for people against it to just get the vaccine for their freedom basically.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2021 Posted April 10, 2021 lol... you clearly don't get how advanced staffs work. At all. Feel free to enlighten me because that's what I was asking for. I don't understand how advanced stats would measure the specific examples I gave. Are you just blindly assuming advanced stats covers every aspect of the game or do you understand the math behind this? Your response was "analytics bro" lol
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2021 Posted April 10, 2021 I haven't read one post in this GDT (and don't plan to), but fully assume it looks like this. It is everything you would be expect when the team has a .250 on base percentage or whatever, Keith Law being proved "right" nightly, (Bo can't play shortstop, Cavan can't hit fastball), team having COVID vaccine side effects and one quarantine (a lot of 'yo bro COVID fake'). (Just for the record I personally don't think Keith Law is right. I think Bo will work out at Shortstop, he doesn't look like Russ Adams, where he just absolutely doesn't have the skills, just bobbling too many balls then rushing, and hopefully that get's fixed. Biggio is walking and hitting with power. Doubt he'll hit .150 all year, and with the ussuall walks and power will be OK. )
