Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2021 Posted April 5, 2021 Some more clarification here: Still dumn not to get the vaccine. If a doc says you can avoid getting the vaccine as it won't provide you much to what you already have then why take it now? Let more information come out to ensure it is truly safe. There are already countries stopping use of particular vaccines as there are rare side effects like blood clots. Oh and I'm not an anti vaccine person. I do believe majority of the population should take it since they don't have the resources available to someone like Bo.

EastCoaster Verified Member Posted April 5, 2021 Posted April 5, 2021 Clearly Springer has to be leadoff and Bo should be 2/3 based on what he wants. Rest is a toss up at this stage. Semien is getting the benefit because he's a veteran, otherwise I think he'd be batting 6th to start. Springer Bo Vlad Teo Semien/Gurriel Semien/Gurriel Tellez Kirk Biggio Only flaw with this lineup is that 1 lefty can face both Tellez and Biggio. Ideally they'd be further apart in the lineup. Nobody in their right mind will leave a 400 + hitter out of their lineup for nomatter what expecially for Tellez who hadn't even have a hit this year let alone a sub par 200 spring training

Each country is investing a lot of money and effort in these vaccines and would hate for them to go to waste by expiring. They for sure would probably still provide better/longer benefits than relying on antibodies only. Everyone wants to get things back to normal asap so Bo broadcasting that sentiment isn't what's best for the country but it could be best for him individually for the time being. He probably should have kept this to himself but whatever, he spoke his mind. P.S. Once the vaccine becomes available to me, I will most likely be getting it unless additional news comes out of adverse side effects.

When everyone was healthy, I expected Tellez/Grichuk to platoon based on lefty/right matchups to start and let whoever plays better to take the spot full time possibility. With the way things stand now, the position should clearly go to Grichuk based on his upgrade defensively and the fact he's batting better than Tellez too. Tellez will have to hit like that small sample size from 2020 in order to have a chance to take the spot from Grichuk. Realistically, we will probably have one of our regulars out or just needing a day off so both will probably get almost a full seasons worth of at bats assuming they aren't trash.

If we did, Panik would be our new 3rd baseman.

I can tell you right now that Charlie knows first hand Randall is responsible for 2 games in his win column Joe Panik wasn't replacing Biggigo and playing 3rd base he was replacing Tellez and DHing that shows how much confidence Charlie has in Rowdy at the plate right now. I can guarantee you Grighuck bat will be the line up before Tellez expecially if he wants to win games Randal is leading the team in 6 offensive categories as of today. Tellez is getting his opportunities Folty wasn't your superstar pitcher yesterday Tellez was 0-3 except he wasting them.

Laika Community Moderator Posted April 6, 2021 Posted April 6, 2021 Tellez isn't just having bad results - he looks lost. You could justify benching him based on scouting I guess. He is swinging at terrible pitches, hacking. Blech. Looks nothing like 2020 Rowdy and everything like the guy I thought was a replacement level player before 2020.

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2021 Posted April 6, 2021 George Springer (oblique) made 14 plate appearances in a simulated game on Tuesday in Texas. Per the Blue Jays, Springer went 4-for-11 with three walks and two strikeouts, taking 17 total swings. He is eligible for activation as early as this Thursday after landing on the 10-day injured list just before the start of the regular season -- retroactive to March 29 -- because of a Grade 2 oblique strain that he suffered mid-camp. It's obviously a very good sign that he is currently traveling with the team.
