Wondering if papa also had a sitdown chat with him and showed him video clips of his playing career.

When papa started out he was lean and could run like a gazzelle, through the yrs his body just started to breakdown

with weight gain to the point where papa could hardly run.

If family genetics comes into play, glad to see Jr trying to get his issues under control now.

I think that was just aging lol. Yeah Vlad Sr. did not age particularly gracefully as he entered his mid 30s but he still had a pretty athletic build and never let himself go to the point of being out of shape, he just followed a pretty standard aging curve for a guy his size. I don't think he even looks as out of shape now at 45 than Vladdy has the last two seasons.

Didnt help that playing on concrete in montreal for a decade ruined his knees.

Really seems like he's very committed this winter. Constant videos of workouts and there's no doubt really looking at the videos that he's shed quite a bit of weight.

Also going to try and play third in the Dominican. Should be good for him. Hopefully he's able to maintain this work ethic into the season.

I've seen the pictures, and I'm somehow still going to half expect him to waddle out there for his first PA of 2021 with an enormous ass.

I think it's the source of his power

Just our luck, our most hyped prospect ever and he has weight and over eating issues which has effected his performance lol. Hopefully he stays committed this time.

I think we were all expecting him to turn into Cecil Fielder.. However, we all thought that would be 6-8 yrs away...

Still far too early to tell, but apart of me wonders if Vlad's weight issues aren't just distorting the fact that he isn't a very good hitter.

Don't know if this was directed at me but I'm just giving a stat line in case anyone missed it.. Not exactly freaking out.

How'd he do today Ang?

Looks like he made an error, struck out, hit a hard RBI single.

Is Pache going to continue the string of almost every Braves prospect breaking out big?

Doubtful in Pache case. He more likely hit like JBJ with better defense

Not sure I would categorize the Braves prospects like that. They have a lot of misses in addition to their hits.

Pache looks like an average regular to me, not sure if he'll be a good enough hitter to be a star.

He can catch, run and throw the ball, but cannot hit the baseball.
