Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Why is it that the Jays d9nt seems to want to finish second. What am I missing? I don’t think the team has a preference to who they play. They feel confident enough against Tampa
bronson44 Verified Member Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Man, everything looks right in the scoreboard (Indians losing, Yankees losing), yet the Jays had to throw Roark/Guch out there to f*** everything up. Ya I don't get why we didn't care about winning this one
EdwinsParrot Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Well, what did we really expect with Roark and gooch out there.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Guch has been god awful other than that 2 week stretch
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 When do the playoffs start? Tuesday?
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 It's still the Orioles, so maybe they turn it back around.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Ya I don't get why we didn't care about winning this one I think they just wanted to rest our key pitchers. If they didn't care about winning this one Gurriel wouldn't be playing and Panik would be in the lineup.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 It's still the Orioles, so maybe they turn it back around. There's no maybe about it, this game is far from over.
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Why is it that the Jays d9nt seems to want to finish second. What am I missing? Chucky wants to beat his old team
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 This pitcher is listed as Travis Lakins Sr. When was the last time you saw a dude use Sr. who wasn't like a REALLY old dude?
TheDragon Verified Member Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Why bring in Yamaguchi in the most important relief outing so far this season???
SydneyJay Verified Member Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 His contract runs until the end of the 2023 season, and then he has a year of arbitration. In baseball arbitration means the team and the player negotiate a 1-year contract by comparing his performance to other players and the contracts those guys got at the same stage in their career. If the two sides don't come to an agreement then they submit a figure of what they think he's worth and a mediator/arbitrator decides which of the two figures - the one submitted by the team and the other by the player - is fairer value. TL;DR: he's a free agent at the 2025 season. Thanks so much for this. That’s actually answers a few questions for me. Appreciated! (Super glad we have a lot of these young guys for a few years. Pumped up to see what might happen through ‘21-‘24.) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

SydneyJay Verified Member Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 That’s so cool that they signed a bunch of the cardboard cutouts! Any of you guys get a cutout at the ground? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Patrick Murphy's curveball is dirty.
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Charlie managing a winner take all game 3 bullpen game scares the s*** out of me
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Nice stuff from Murph. Could be a key contributor next season.
doorknob Verified Member Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Can't decide what I'm more disgusted by: Jansen swinging at those terrible pitches, or the advertisement for plant based burgers.
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Pinch hitting for Bo... OK then
WhiteKnight03 Verified Member Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Yeah, this is possibly pissing me off more than it should, but we really need to avoid the House of Horrors. And it’s right there for our taking. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
RobinThicc Verified Member Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Wouldve let Bo get the AB here
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Why did Bo just get pinch hit for?
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 You guys need to relax about the seeding, it's interesting to talk about the possible matchups but theyre all very tough teams and its probably better to face them in a short 3 game series where anything can happen than for them to see our 4th starter and overworked pen in a 5 game series. We played Tampa very tough, their offense isn't the yankees dodgers or Braves. They have a chance.

Grichuk was interviewed by Jomboy a few weeks back and the team feels very good about their chances against Tampa Bay.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 I think coaches and Mgm have underestimated the Trop factor for us in laying up on today. I get their rationale with the arms. I do. It’s a tough one. But our history there is just pain and misery. Not playing them there in round 1 has upside. 6 more outs to win this. Let’s do it.

Looks like the other option might be Cleveland. Cleveland's lineup isn't great, their starting pitching is a horror show.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Gurriel is scorching right now.
