tough raps loss..I need a jays win to pick me up..lol

At least they played a hell of a lot better. Just need Lowry to hit a few 3's, and Smart not to go on a ridiculous hot streak like that. They probably win 9/10 times with the way they played.

so the Marlins got rid of Villar who made the error that cost us a run and acquired Marte who hit the go ahead homer....pretty good trade deadline for the Marlins.

Is there some kind of analytical data that shows the #3 hitter in the lineup could be one of your worst hitters and it won't matter? Montoyo has used Jansen, Shaw (not the worst but has been bad this season), and Villar in that spot. He's used Tellez there as well, but at least he's been decent this season. Just seems like he doesn't take that particular spot in the lineup seriously. Maybe someone who knows about lineup structure better than me can explain this.

If this was a full regular season i'd be benching Vladdy tomorrow for that idiot play at 2nd.

Can't ask for much more from the pitching staff.

Yep. 10 strikeouts to 2 walks. The Marlins have only hit 4 flyballs but have 2 homeruns.

No. I think he's trying to get a cold hitter some extra fastballs to get them going, but he seriously needs to stop.

Yeah.. I'm still not thrilled using Yamaguchi in high leverage spots even though he's been better lately. His mistakes are way too fat for MLB hitters. I'd use him in games if we're up or down by two runs or more.

Seriously f***. Didn’t he hit Teo or Biggio 8th to “lengthen the line up” too. This Mickey Mouse ******** is infuriating. 4 dimensional Chess not checkers I guess?

Jays lost 2 in a row, wait for the lineup tomorrow.

No sane baseball person will ever follow the "best hitter bats 8th" thing unless it is a punishment to the hitter. I thought maybe there's some statistical explanation for "s***** hitter bats 3rd" that Montoyo seems to love to do, but likely the same 4D chess that always explains his moves.

I'll just add that I liked what Buntoyo did with the pitching tonight. Offense was the downfall.

Yup. The Korean pitched well. He has been a lot better. Just groved one to wrong bat. We just didn’t hit. E and a base running blunder didn’t help. I can’t complain about how he used the arms tonight.

We're facing a decent marlins team and he sits Teo when we have 5 games in 4 days against the Sox upcoming. We bat Villar in the 3 hole not the 7 hole. Charlie does not disappoint at all.

The 1-2-4-5 spots in the lineup are statistically proven to be most important, but your 5th best hitter should be hitting in the 3 spot. Definitely not the worst, worst hitter should always be 9th.
