Laika Community Moderator Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 Biggio is the guy to lock in now anyway, before his career WARz get too high.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 Shatkins has implied in the past that they have access to a similar payroll as AA did for the playoff run. Do you think they will reach $160mm while maximizing value? They are $130M now. They shed are down to $4M from Tulo next year so that helps. But mostly I think they will not go full Rays and they will pay their own players through arbitration and beyond. And be in on that 4th, 5th, 6th ranked FA some years. Just opinion here...but people don't change who they are because of fans
glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 Bichette, Vlad, and Biggio come from money. They have HOF or very good MLB level fathers who made millions playing in the league. I could see all of them waiting until free agency. This is not an Acuna/Albies situation where AA took advantage of kids who came from little/nothing. The Jays are going to have to ante up here.

Or you trade him before he gets exposed by "velocity" Yeah Biggio and Vladdy (who was with his girl during the shutdown...which means baby 3 is coming) were the two I was thinking about. Of course you never stop making offers to Bo as well

Laika Community Moderator Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 Like Stroman and Sanchez? that was wild when they just stopped being friends i wonder what Stroman did
RustyTrombone Verified Member Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 Prolly banged Sanchezs' girl
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 That time when you try to do an Olerud rant, but fail.
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 that was wild when they just stopped being friends i wonder what Stroman did Stroman seems like the kind of guy you only want to be around for short bursts at a time. I'm assuming the beginning of the end was when they were living together.
bronson44 Verified Member Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 So Stripling was added today and SRF was sent down. Just curious why they wouldn't wait until Friday to do this since that's when Stripling starts and keep the extra bullpen arm until then.

Once they complete the intake process and are with the team they have to be activated.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 No doubt Friedman was probably doing back flips. Knowing he got a high ceiling arm for a guy he was planning to use as swing man.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 Ryan Noda is the PTBNL. And who is Noda? Lol
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 And who is Noda? Lol If you have to ask then you don't deserve an answer
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 If you have to ask then you don't deserve an answer 32. Ryan Noda, 1B (’20 rank #25) Age: 24 Highest Level: A+ Noda was a promising power hitter in the low minors early in his career but his numbers continued to decline in 2019. Left off the alternate site roster he may be reaching his peak in this organization. There is still hope though that he will figure it out this season with AA New Hampshire.
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 Noda is still a bit interesting because the exit velocities are apparently high. So it's elite walks and good power. Strikeouts and age make him a likely bust, but still, tacking him on to Kendall Williams makes the trade spoo00oo00oOoooky especially when it's the Dodgers selecting those two prospects. Stripling needs to produce.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 Shatkins > Friedman No worries here
Ray Verified Member Posted February 24, 2021 Author Posted February 24, 2021 Speaking of Kendall Williams, looks like he’s revamped his delivery. Mimicks Dustin May with an exaggerated high leg kick, kind of. Instagram WWW.INSTAGRAM.COM

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 It seems like he's been dicked around a lot with the Dodgers. Is he a reliever or a starter? He's an opener who may occasionally pitch in the middle innings.

Laika Community Moderator Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 Trade is still bad. Kendall Williams needs to become a good big leaguer for that to actualize. It might happen but the process might still have been fine here. I mean, a very similar process lead to the Matz and Ray acquisitions (buy low on MLB arms with productive histories)
