Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2020 Posted September 1, 2020 Interesting - I really like Musgrove. Yea would have loved to bring him back fo the organization. I think hes a guy that can just be a beast when he figures it out.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2020 Posted September 1, 2020 Re-visit that one in the offseason. Musgrove is a guy I have always liked since we drafted him.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2020 Posted September 1, 2020 Anyone know when the players we acquired can start for us? Are there any covid related measures that might delay things when it comes to trades? I saw Nola played for SD last night, so it can't be that long.

I think I read that teams can choose if they want players to do covid intake testing when they arrive with their new team. So whereas Vogelbach took a while to be added to our active roster, Walker I believe got a start right away. I could see us holding back on one or more of Ray and Stripling since they'll be replacing arms which we may use in the next couple of days - as long as their scheduled start days don't come up - while Villar might be immediately available tonight.

If they can fly private jet (which some teams are doing) or drive, then basically right away. If a player had to fly commercial, he would then have to go through a quarantine process.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2020 Posted September 1, 2020 Villar should be immediately available since the team is flying to him.

The key question we need to ask ourselves is if he's able to bunt, since you just know he's going to be asked to do so several times a week by our dumbass manager.

max silver Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2020 Posted September 1, 2020 Irrelevant, our players aren't allowed to try to lay down bunts for hits, only to perform the noble deed of sacrificing one's at bat for the betterment of the team.

Well, they DFA'd 2 guys today, so I'm guessing that at least 2 of the new guys will be ready to go today. I don't believe they would have to make those roster moves until they were ready to be activated, but I could be wrong w/r/t the 40 man.
