Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 I wonder if they will have the 4K broadcasts set up in Buffalo. Here’s hoping.
Ray Verified Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 I know our prospects have loved working with Guillermo Martinez in the minors, but overall, the plate approaches have been horrendous going back to last season.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Its Kevin Pillar lol. No reason to pull him lmao
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Ryan Borucki strikesout the side
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Anyone miss that Pillar inability to identify a slider?
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Aceukci wasting away in the bullpen as a loogy...
M.E. Verified Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 When does Montoya put in Shun or Font to lose the game? My guess is if they are tied in the 9th.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 borucki better come out in the 8th if it's still tied.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 I see no reason to ever put Borucki back in the rotation. He has all the makings to be an ace reliever. Up to 96 with the fastball and absolute wipe out slider. Have enough rotation options going forward. Would expect them to venture into the free agent market for a bigger option as well again.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Borucki f***ed the sox that inning.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Aceukci wasting away in the bullpen as a loogy... He can have that terrible nickname in a bullpen role.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Shaw's swing looks slow as f***.
Ray Verified Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 The craziest part about Borucki is that he’s been mowing down hitters while barely using his best pitch, which is his changeup. Kid is looking like a stud.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 For those wondering Borucki's slider to cutter transformation, it's actually pretty significant. 2019 Slider: 83.8 MPH, 38.1 vMov (inches), 2.1 hMov (inches) 2020 Cutter: 86.7 MPH, 32.8 vMov (inches), 2.8 hMov (inches) It's faster, drops less, and breaks more horizontally.

I don't want an ace reliever if Borucki can be a number 3 starter or better. I wouldn't give up on him as a starter until he results dictate you should.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Wow Montoyo actually making the proper bullpen decisions.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Just following along online, why is there no 2B ump?

I wouldn't give up on him as a starter until he results dictate you should. His health has dictated he won’t. Bullpen is his home. I would say both Kay and Hatch are ahead of him on the potential starter depth chart. Combine that with the kids coming I don’t see it.

I wouldn't give up on him as a starter until he results dictate you should. It might not be the worst move though, Borucki has extensive injury history. If he can be a 2-3 IP Lefty BP weapon every 3 games that's still very valuable. Either way, his stuff has absolutely ticked up in the bullpen, which doesn't always happen (see Sean Reid-Foley). We're also really short on lefthanded relievers, while having a huge waitlist of 6th starter types.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Just following along online, why is there no 2B ump? He wasn’t fit to umpire. They didn’t give much information past that.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 He can have that terrible nickname in a bullpen role. I would be forced to change it to Saveurcki....

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 I would be forced to change it to Saveurcki.... Or you can just abandon the nickname concept all together
