saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Biggio has absolutely crushed 2 balls and he doesn't have a hit.
WILLIEUPSHAW Verified Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 With us having Martin, I'd rather just put our money into a starting pitcher and J.T. Realmuto would be on my radar. So convert Austin Martin to CFer ? Yeah I think it makes sense. If Jansen doesn't get the bat going this season, Realmuto would be a nice pick-up, but he is likely to have a whole lot of interest.

gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 10 teams? There are three divisions, top two in each and then the next two best records.
WILLIEUPSHAW Verified Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Give me Trevor Bauer Yeah especially if he goes ahead with his previously stated plan of going on short term contracts. He had said he would literally go on 1 year deals but maybe he would split the difference and do a 3 year deal.

Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Give me Trevor Bauer I like our pitching and would rather invest in a bat. Maybe bring back Anderson or Shoe, but you have to give guys like Kay a shot at some point. I wouldn't hate a short term veteran bat like Brantley.
WILLIEUPSHAW Verified Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 A little bit of credit due for Atkins with 3 of his acquisitions in Anderson, Kay and Bass getting it done tonight. Also love that Romano guy!
EdwinsParrot Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Needed this one and they got it. Hopefully the bats heat up, and find some better luck lol.

Yeah and stop hitting it to the deepest part of Fenway all the time would be nice. I hope to see a couple (or five) Jays hits land in the seats on top of the monster tomorrow! Or out onto the street behind it
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 7K's 6 walks and 9 hits as a team and we scored 2 runs last night. This offense is primed to break out. We're top third in the league in fewest strikeouts in the league, but bottom 3rd in walks per game. The last couple games we're taking more walks. It's natural to press a bit and try and come up with the big hit. We're starting to see the guys lay off pitches and take their walks. One big game and a little confidence and this team could get on a roll. Rowdy's hit 5 or 6 warning track fly balls. Sooner or later they are going to go out. Grichuk with a .367 OBP only 5Ks and no homers! He's due to hit some bombs.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 This is exactly the batting lineup up we should have right now. You could argue Gurriel in place of Shaw though Lineups are out lets go, actually the same lineup 2 days in a row, there's a first...
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Lineups are out lets go, actually the same lineup 2 days in a row, there's a first... Would be nice if they stuck with this lineup most of the time...
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Lineups are out lets go, actually the same lineup 2 days in a row, there's a first... Much better lineup from Montoyo. Maybe the embarrassment of his Hernandez batting 8th quote finally smartened him up.

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Same lineup and is even starting Jansen in a day game after a night game. That’s actually pretty shocking.
