How hard is it to write names on a piece of paper? Holy f***

Legit a 5th grader would not struggle with this

So, the umps are dumb right? Even though not listing Waguespack on the lineup card is a brain cramp of tremendous proportion....it’s not necessary for him to be allowed in the game.

So.....who looks more dumb here? Montoyo or the home plate ump who doesn’t know the rule to the sport he is paid to know the rules to?

Montoyo still, umpires made the right decision.

I think it's a tie. Critical incompetence all around

Explain why they made the right decision, when it’s in black and white in the rule book that potential substitutes are not required to be listed on the lineup card.

Technically, Montoyo could have played the remainder of this game under protest because of that umpires decision, which was against the rules. Though I’m guessing Montoyo doesn’t know that rule either lol

I assume nobody on the field knows the exact rule but that's how most umpires would handle the situation. Still seem inexcusable to me to make that pitching change and not see that he's not on your own lineup card in your hand and pinned in your dugout.

It tips over to Montoyo looking dumber because he barely pushed back, if at all
