Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2020 Posted August 3, 2020 As far as I know, MLB initially was using saliva tests which they processed at their own PED lab. Because of testing delays at their own lab, teams were grabbing any lab they could find to process their own tests. I'm pretty sure the NBA and NHL use nasal swabs. Why would they do that? They had months to get proper testing in place. As far as I'm concerned, Rob Manfred should not have a job after this. I wouldn't trust him to manage a kids soccer team.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2020 Posted August 3, 2020 pretty sad that we missed baseball this weekend due to false positives.

Wasn't it baseball that had the mess a few weeks ago because Fed Ex was closed? not exactly brain surgeons there at MLB HQ

That's all he cares about.

MLB.tv was advertising a 3 day free trial, so I got it and sent the cancellation email immediately. No response after emailing twice and I was charged. They charged 80 dollars for a 60 game schedule, which might be even less or the season could be cancelled, and I bet MLB will be gladly issuing refunds to everyone :/
wamco Verified Member Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 My test just came back negative. Just wanna tell anyone who is debating having it done to do it. Don’t buy the hype (or my nurse was good). Test was fast and easy

And yeah I really want to get it but its hard to justify 80$ for 50ish more games when the full season used to be like 140$. They really shouldn’t be charging any more than 50$ for the rest of this season.

To me it felt similar to the sensation that happens when you get water up your nose, just more concentrated to a specific region. I did find my sinus was a little irritated for the rest of the day as well.

Was much less annoying when you're barely conscious, so do it that way if you can.

Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 so a few Jelly Kings and you're good to go, then I don't tend to drink more than one sour. I like them, but if I have more than one it's just a bit much for me. Though, since I'm no longer able to drink, I'd deep throat a keg of the stuff right now...

I find, especially with a lot of fruit sours, it's just tart, tart, tart and the flavour is nice but there's nothing to balance it. Jelly King, Jam Up the Mash, CA's Blueberry Cacao sour I'd consider crushable. There's some bitterness in the finish that doesn't leave you feeling like you drank a bottle of vinegar afterwards. Why can't you drink? Did Connor inspire you to convert to Islam?

Why can't you drink? Did Connor inspire you to convert to Islam? I would absolutely love to try those, I've admittedly only had 3 or 4 different sours, mostly at beer fests. I can't drink 'cause I developed viral cardiomyopathy which turned into congestive heart failure (PROBABLY from Covid, but since I haven't been able to get the antibody test, can't confirm, but my cardiologist is confident that it was a virus of some kind and the timing lines up...) I can't have alcohol or salt anymore, like... ever.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 I'm actively looking for CA's Blueberry Cacao and WW's Blood Moon
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 I'm actively looking for CA's Blueberry Cacao and WW's Blood Moon Probably won't find the collective arts one since it's seasonal, but f*** is that ever a good beer.
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 The other day I learned that there are different flavours of Jelly King. The labels are so similar that you barely notice.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 Bench Brewing has a Cherry Grove Sour ale that is just fantastic

BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 Cherry can either taste good or taste like cough syrup.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 Cherry can either taste good or taste like cough syrup. No, that wasn't it. Tbh, kinda tasted like dirt
