Ex Player Verified Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Heading out for the day, thats why I made this thread early. Cant wait for this game, Nate's ML debut. Imagine if he blanks the Sens and beats Scherzer
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 It's not ideal for the Jays, but it would be great for the league if Soto plays today.
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Has there been any word as to whether Pearson will be on a pitch count or not? If so, what's the number said to be?

Laika Community Moderator Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 “I try not to let that stuff bother me,” he said. “Obviously, bringing me up right after the service time date brings up a lot of speculation. But at the end of the day it’s a business move. I want the Blue Jays to be successful. They’re just doing what’s best for the organization and I can’t take that personally. They’re just doing what owners and GMs are supposed to do, just do the best for the team. And so I try not to let that affect me and I just control what I can control. I’m making my debut and I’m excited for it.” Smart kid. Good PR statement.
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Thanks. No mention of a pitch count for today, but the article gives the impression that they're going to ease him along, so I doubt they'll let him get too deep in this game. I was thinking of betting the under, but I suspect the Jays bullpen will play a large roll in this one and that could potentially get dicey. Might make a small wager on it anyways

Considering established veteran innings eater Tanner Roark was taken out after only 73 pitches while cruising yesterday, I think Nate will be on a similar restriction. Doubt he throws more than 75-80 pitches.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 (edited) Smart kid. Good PR statement. Extend him 10 years and call it a day, great kid. Edited July 29, 2020 by BlueRocky

Laika Community Moderator Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 I was wondering why Kieboom was riding the pine while so many shitbags like Bonifacio were playing.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 McGuire is also playing with groin issues.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 McGuire is also playing with groin issues. His Criminal Defense lawyer game up with that.. Your honor, I am professional baseball player who was in the midst of Spring Training. I was only in the process of my daily prescribed ritual, by a professional sports trainer, of massaging my groin when the officer interrupted my therapy.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Alright guys. Over/Under highest velo reading from Pearson tonight: 99.0 MPH

43211234 Verified Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 It would really suck if the center field camera was such a wide and flat angle like that all season. Hopefully that is something they consider during the rush to get the park ready.
