BTS Community Moderator Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 That is perfect lineup construction.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 I'd rather see Fisher in CF than Alford but whatever I guess. Not that we've seen better from Alford to make us have confidence in him, but watching Fisher in the field gives me Vietnam flashbacks. I'd like for the team to wait for him to stop giving us a heart attack on flyballs before they trot him out in the most difficult of the positions in the outfield.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 I'd rather see Fisher in CF than Alford but whatever I guess. Fisher is kinda a circus in LF, I don't know that CF is something he could realistically handle...
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 Less sexy lineup with McGuire instead of Jansen but it's a lot of games in little time so I guess it makes sense to give your main catcher as much rest as necessary.

I agree but I think I trust Fisher's bat more. I'd rather have him out in LF than Alfrod in CF. It's likely observation bias on my part but Fisher has looked more impressive at the plate. I guess the Jay's got to make a decision on one, if not both, of these two eventually and see how they play.

It's likely that one (or both) of those two don't finish the season w/ the Jays, so get as much info on the two of them before making that call. Fisher's had a decent week including the exhibition games, so he's probably in the lead currently, but I really don't think he's viable as a fielder anywhere right now...

I probably just have irrationally high hopes for him. Just weird, he easily has the speed for CF and that's like 75% of the position. E: I guess my point is moot, didn't realize the first lineup was "probable" and that this one is very different. Still very good lineup construction, but that glaring hole at DH is really starting to bother me.
TheDragon Verified Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 I f***ing love the potential in our lineup, almost every guy has the ability to rake... Edit: I heard McGuire has been putting extra work into his stroke in the off season, good on him!
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 McGuire hasn’t embarrassed himself when he has got an opurtunity at the plate. Obviously his minor league numbers dictate he’s probably not going to be a good hitter at all. But he has shown extra base power and looks good behind the plate. All you can really ask for out of your backup.
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 It’d make a massive difference if Shoemaker can stay healthy for a few months.
TheDragon Verified Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 Smoak just homered. Can I post that here?
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 Boy, have I not missed Jamie Campbell puns...
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 I think Teoscar Hernandez is going be a big surprise this year, at least with the bat.
el duque Verified Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 This line up looks so good, 2016 Jays are back
TheDragon Verified Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 I think Teoscar Hernandez is going be a big surprise this year, at least with the bat. In all honesty, you're not really going out on a limb considering he had a great second half but it should be his last chance to prove himself as an everyday player as he's nearly 28 years old.
TheDragon Verified Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 Does Gurriel know it's not the 1980's?
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 31 games for Biggio. Nice stroke.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 Surprised that didn't hit the roof...
