These are two teams I want to watch. Great lineups. Exciting players. Mets could do some serious damage if Cespedes is healthy and Nimmo/Cano bounce back.

Must be nice to be so deep you have J.D Davis in the 7th hole.

Laika - you're selling Conforto short man. He's a  and better than Schwarber

Happy faces and cool faces mean the same thing.

When deGrom is painting with that 93mph change he's almost untouchable.

I was like who's Alex Jackson? Find out d'Arnaud and Flowers have covid, yikes.

d'Arnaud tested negative, but is exhibiting symptoms of being sick. Team just being cautious. Will probably be back on the team tomorrow.

Cespedes batting instead of deGrom. That seems a lot more fun. The universal DH was long overdue.

Yup, pitchers went 1-60 last year in the PS, sexy AF.

Or not, I heard during the telecast.

DeGrom already hitting 99-100 mph. Acuna had no chance there.

D'Arnaud (illness) was placed on the COVID-19 injured list Friday, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Analysis

The 31-year-old actually tested negative for COVID-19 but is showing similar symptoms, so he didn't travel with the team for Opening Day. D'Arnaud can rejoin the team once clear of the symptoms since there's no minimum stay for the specialized IL. Tyler Flowers is sidelined by similar circumstances, leaving Alex Jackson and William Contreras to handle catching duties for the Braves.

ESPN:

The Atlanta Braves will be without their top two catchers, Tyler Flowers and Travis d'Arnaud, for Friday's opening game at the New York Mets after both players showed symptoms of the coronavirus.

Manager Brian Snitker said Friday that Flowers and d'Arnaud have tested negative for COVID-19 but did not travel with the team because they had symptoms. Snitker said he did not know what the symptoms were and hoped the two just had "a bad cold."

Snitker said the team is being careful because "we've had guys test negative and the next day they test positive."

Did they just not show half an inning via facetime interview?

This broadcast is terrible.

They missed the Ozuna strikeout and didn't even show the following at bat. Just to watch Piazza sit back and enjoy his cigar.
