I'm giving everyone $500 in BJMB dollars. Which has zero actual cash value. After our last contest winner did not get his prize I'm not going to offer a prize on this one (I will get Boxy his jersey though, even if I have to sew it myself). I will post my picks before the deadline. Changes acceptable up to the deadline of 23:59 on July 20, 2020.

Rules (assume all bets are priced at 1.91 so if you bet $100, you win $191)

$500 to spend. Max bet of $200. Keep all bets in $10 increments. Teams not playing at least 58 games voids the wagers. Ties are broken by more overall wagers beats less.

Cubs over 32.5 - $80

BOS under 31.5 - $80

Hurl is so cute making the math unnecessarily difficult with 1.91 multiples to ensure house spread integrity when it makes absolutely no difference for bets in this hypothetical contest. 2x would have sufficed.

For some reason beer was the first thing to come to mind. Also I'd like to chime in that I'm the lightest I've been in about 10 years so it isn't quarantine that's the problem.

I'm too realistic for that. But you are absolutely correct.

Still time to submit your predictions

Through random variation alone it's so easy to see the projected records of Toronto and Tampa Bay flipping. The season is so short that it's silly.

Yeah, a true talent .500ish team could easily start the season 33-27. In that sense, this season should be pretty exciting. Unless you're truly awful (O's, Tigers, etc), all you need is a hot start and you'll be playing meaningful games all "season", while a good team that starts slow could be in trouble. I still think MLB should have at least tried for 80 games as 60 is ridiculous, but should be an interesting experiment to see if the season is more exciting with fewer games.

Same with the Phils and any other non-Marlins team in their division.

I'm pretty sure the Mariners got off to an absurd start last season and they finished only one game ahead of the Jays.

13-2 before they started sucking chodes, but the 2018 Mariners finished with a 38-22 record in 60 games, that was the year they got stupid lucky in one run games.

My first thought was the 2009 Jays, who I recall starting the season really hot. They were 27-14 after 41 games, and 33-27 after 60 games. They ended up finishing 75-87.
