I really don't care for the whites. The Blue jersey is by FAR the best one.

The whites resemble the uniform we won the WS in man..

Another minor detail: it seems that our new alternate helmets are entirely dark navy blue; that I like quite a lot. Not sure why they had to differentiate the cap like that...

There were also some very minor changes: we have swapped our primary and secondary logos (previously our primary was the classic Jay-in-a-ball with “Toronto Blue Jays” letterings around it, and secondary was just the blue jay logo itself; now its been swapped) and the shade of red has changed to such a miniscule degree that absolutely no one noticed.

Good summary of it all here: http://news.sportslogos.net/2020/01/18/blue-jays-unveil-new-powder-blue-uniform-tweak-logos-for-2020/

Wonder if the home blue helmets worn from last year will be matte finish too? or shiny still

Surprised no one's mentioned the primary and secondary logos being swapped...

I like the powder blues, but prefer the primary logo of the past few years.

Agreed. The logo with the baseball is excellent

I hope these powder blues replace the red jerseys. Really don’t like the reds

Apparently that’s the official word. These replace the red alternates which will go back to being a Canada day exclusive only.

That particular shade of red was a real eye sore, especially in the sun and with all the blue surrounding the diamond (blue outfield walls, blue seats, blue infield walls, blue dugouts, etc.) and then add in the dull green shade in the fake grass/turf.

They were burning my retinas.

And the grey alternate/road jersey from that era was the better uniform at the time.

The white and grey are their best jerseys and that should be all they wear. I wish they would just get rid of the alternate jerseys altogether.

For real. I mean they can have them for sale and wear them once or twice a year if they want but I wish they'd wear the whites and greys 95% of the time.

Don't most people actually prefer the blue alternates?

Yes and so do the players.

Not the current players. The older players from the 2015 teams preferred the blue alts. But the current crop like the whites and grey better. I remember Stroman mentioning it last year that the team usually always wants the whites or grey.

anyone see us eventually returning to the white panel cap as the primary home cap with the whites at home anyways?

Caps are supposed to go on your head, not in it.

By the way, I stopped by the Jays shop (Eaton Centre) the other day and all outgoing Majestic jerseys are finally on clearance sale; IIRC it seemed to be about $30 or so discount off both blank and name/numbered jerseys. I’d suggest getting these Majestic jerseys at a cheaper price while you can since the new Nike replicas seems to be equal quality to the outgoing Majestic cool base ones from what I’ve seen; so there’s really no need to pay the premium just for the swoosh. This is especially so for the throwback jerseys since the it seems like Nike will still put the swoosh on the chest in those, which will just look odd on throwbacks IMO.

Why shop at the Jays shop, lol

Why not if there’s a decent deal? Granted the prices there usually not the best if another place is selling the same item, but I find that the clearance section is worth keeping an eye on once in a while for deals for jerseys/shirts (including Player authentics and game used stuff too if one’s into those, not easy to find that elsewhere in person). Huge variety of Jays only merch too so if anything it’s always nice to stop by and browse.

All three jerseys last year are better than these powder blues. Every team’s jerseys look worse this season with that terrible Nike swoosh on the front though. It looks so bad.

I was not in favour of Nike putting the swoosh on the front either (like most fans), but with the current jerseys I think I will eventually get used to it. If the deal was always to allow the sponsor logo on the front, at least the swoosh is the least conspicuous logo out of all the brands (imagine if the Under Armour deal never fell through and we ended up with that UA logo on the chest instead... ugh).

But insisting on putting the sponsor logo on front of throwback/heritage jerseys really annoys me; these should try to replicate the old jerseys as close as possible and seeing the Nike logo on the front just looks wrong and completely out of place. It should be kept on the jock tags or at most, on the sleeves. Of course, there’s always Mitchell and Ness but those cost arm and a leg...
