havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 How dare Wil Myers hit another grand slam off the Rangers. Doesn’t he know you’re not supposed to embarrass the home team? He should apologize immediately. Well it's Texas, so they expect the opposition batter to walk over to the pitcher and give him a nice gentleman's handshake after striking out.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 My only beef with Tatis is that he’s a very dumb base runner... why is he stealing 3rd with 2 outs and Machado at the plate? His crazy slides are cool but there’s so many times he should have been thrown out on the basepaths. I don’t watch him enough to know how many times he HAS been thrown out/picked off because i’ve only seen the highlights.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 That steal had no impact on the score. Yes the steal was questionable but he’s no doubt fun to watch. Texas is only down 6-4 now.

BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 This sums it up pretty well, though that picture of Hosmer talking to Tatis was about something else.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 Maeda no-hitter through 7 Didn't quite pull it off but he struck out 8 in a row and they won in 12

Hosmer telling the other f***ing team that they will talk to him makes me so f***ing pissed. Let's let our s***** team leader 1B enforce the unwritten rules. Why is it always Texas with the f***ing cucumber up their ass?
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 Well it's Texas, so they expect the opposition batter to walk over to the pitcher and give him a nice gentleman's handshake after striking out. I wonder if Chris Woodward will go to the media later and talk about how much he disliked his team being scored upon. "Personally, I didn't like it." You know, I think there should be an additional unwritten rule: if the other team is no longer allowed to score on you because you're getting destroyed, then you are also not allowed to try to make a comeback. Maybe just concede the game at that point. Maybe MLB should institute a mercy rule.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 Johnny Bench on the Yankees broadcast last night. You know why they are unwritten rules, cause if you wrote them out you would realize just how stupid they are The change away from most of these things are probably a generation away. Once the current players start managing.

BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 (edited) Rangers are butt hurt they got embarrassed at home. Then decides to throw a fastball at Machado’s head because Tatis swung at a 3-0 pitch. The worst part was Jayce Tingler came out to defend the Rangers actions instead Tatis. I wonder who the Padres ownership group thinks is more replaceable? Edited August 19, 2020 by BlueRocky

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 Craig Kimbrel, for the first time in a while, looked unhittable. All it took was a bit of fastball command and he just lets his filthy stuff do the rest of the work.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 Good riddance. He's a curmudgeonly old man who probably agrees with the unwritten rule BS that the Rangers whined about.

Laika Community Moderator Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 Dan Vogelbach is an interesting DFA. Not sure I'd want Toronto to grab him but maybe a slight upgrade?

Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 Here's a clip of the full apology... https://www.cincinnati.com/story/news/2020/08/19/watch-thom-brennamans-apology-after-making-homophobic-slur-air/5613633002/
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 Why can't Thom Brennaman be a billionaire so his "apology" can be two middle fingers on live TV instead of that cringy feces that came out of his mouth in an attempt to keep his job. What a faggy bitch. Definitely a bottom.
King Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 Passan is taking heat for saying that the Reds announcer said fag lol And guess who is at the center of it. Jen Big Mac Uranus Ramos
