And Nola, Pham, Haseley.

And there's this:

In the statement Price posted to social media, he says that he’s “decided it is in the best interest of my heath and my family’s health for me to not play this season.” His concerns are no doubt shared by plenty of players across baseball, with the Angels’ Mike Trout expressing a similar sentiment yesterday.

Trout opting out would be quite the blow.

Those 'plenty of players across the league' are likely all the players who have already gotten their life changing contracts.

I think the King opted out after the 2015 season.

I can't believe Felix is only 34. Feels like he's been in the league since the 90's.

I didn't even know I could delete a post of a mod. It is going to be tough not to discuss COVID when it comes to baseball, but we are going to ask to keep the posts on it to the baseball side not the virus itself. Pretty sure all our attempts at civility are f***ed if the Indians change their name

The Indians WILL change their name, as will the Redskins. At this point, if you are in prominent in the public eye, you either get on the PC bus or get run over by it.

Jesus Christ Sandoval, at least pretend to care to look like you're a professional athlete a little.

Just be happy that's not a Guerrero pic (for now).

f*** off! He's not 33.

I bet Panda wishes he could turn back the clock 4 years to when he was in his twenties:

Looks like the CC diet is... amphetamines?

Might be as simple as him being off the Captain Crunch

Goddammit, you have to buy the $50US/year subscription to avoid ads on Fangraphs. Apparently their $20 membership isn't enough to let you avoid some of the most obnoxious ads on the internet.

You always have the option of not reading Fangraphs since it sucks

I never read Fangraphs anymore, but baseball reference is a s***** alternative when it comes to looking up stats.

I dunno, I understand personal tastes and all that but I just don't really find Fangraphs annoying enough to shell out money for a subscription, especially when I know it helps justify the work of people like Sheryl Ring, Meg Rowley and Big Mac Uranus Neptune Jupiter Ramos. Pages take longer to load but do you guys maybe think you're overreacting just a little bit?

What site do you use to get your advanced stats from?

I just think about players and decide if they are good or not. Stats are for pussies.

Nick Markakis the latest to opt out.

One of the worst things about losing this season is that it probably ends his bid for 3000 hits and removes all hope for the hilarity of Nick Markakis being inducted into the HoF.

TIL Nick Markakis has over 2300 hits.

Jesus Christ, he's going Harold Baines his way into the HoF

The relationship that BTS has with Nick Markakis is deeper than most people understand. Nick is a focal point of BTS’ development as a baseball fan. Keep this in mind.

If the season had been played he'd be creeping up on 2500 through his age-36 season. With the DH coming to the NL, 3000 was definitely in play if he maintained an average bat for a few more years. Probably not happening now.

I still remember when he was good in 2007 and 2008

Nashville has some baseball Heavy hitters backing the bid for a franchise... I see Nashville as a great place for a team, and if this COVID has taught MLB anything, having teams in other countries is a PITA. I see Nashville's bid/location for surpassing Montreal IMO.
