pretty much proved my point right there. no answer would have been so much better to keep from making the sham less obvious.

He asked to have his account deleted after receiving a short ban. He didn't do anything to warrant a permanent ban and you don't really have a cogent point.

I have half a mind to give you a timeout now due to the continued criticism of moderation practices. It seems that your intent is to create unnecessary discord.

I'm just interested in seeing the rules applied fairly across the board (no pun intended). Thanks for the clarification on Boxcar. I think he is a smart guy with a lot to offer (obviously) if he can be in the right state of mind and focus on the issues, not on criticizing the other posters.

speaking of bans, where's BBBB at? I thought someone posted he's coming back.

cant wait for the lineup today

see what our elite strategic manager has in store for the Ray's

Panik hitting cleanup? vlad hitting 9th? Tellez leading off ?

all is possible

What do you guys make of Rowdy Tellez slicing his K rate in half? His tendencies haven't changed much, he's just making more contact. He's a legit starter for our future if he can maintain it.

What I mean to say is that we'd generally have to cut a productive veteran or cut a youngster that also needs development. There's not a ton of dead weight at this point.

Well...I mean we have someone like Waguespack who's already been up and down a few times. All I'm saying is I'd like to see Murphy maybe added to that rotation.

I'm not really sure where he stands. After he had to change his delivery last year he was pretty bad, he has good stuff so I would like to see him up at some point.

Nothing too crafty but Vladdy seems to be third and Teoscar 4th.

Charlie is a moron. Vladdy has a higher on base percentage and Teoscar higher slugging.

Doesn't our moron manager know the guy with the higher on base percentage should be fourth, so he can potentially lead off the second?? That is why LA was hitting Bellinger 4th a lot.

Charlie has cost us 1/10000000 or so runs with this move that goes against all common sense. Fire Charlie. Fire him. Fire him now.

No other team has picked up Alford. That should tell you everything

It makes me happy. If we do make the playoffs, I really want him on the roster for late inning defense and pinch running (unless we get someone equivalent with a better bat).

For those that missed his debut, Merryweather had a 97-98 MPH FB with multiple secondaries. Flashed a nice 85-87 MPH slider, curveball and changeup.

I think he's legit. 91 rWC+ with a normal BABIP last year and 28% K rate. Not bad for a first full season.

This year his K rate is more in line with his MiLB stats and the 100 wRC+ is accompanied by an unlucky .216 BABIP.

120-125 wRC+ when he hits his peak in a few years?

His xwOBA this year is .360

Can we stick a fork in Shaw yet?

He looks 40 years old and his indicators don’t seem any/much better than last year. It appears his physical skills just fell off a cliff.

I get that he will stick on the roster all year regardless. Not really any other 3B options unless you throw Vlad back over there. And really why not...

I disagree that on his indicators don't seem any/much better than last year. He is hitting the ball hard at a significantly higher rate, 57.1% vs 35.5% last year. His exit velocity is also very respectable at 93.1.

His launch angle, which he tried to get higher last year and didn't work, is also back down to his career norms, 14.8.

So his hitting the ball harder, and from a launch angle perspective which Shaw admits was the problem last year, going back to the same hitter he was before.

With all that being said, you are right that he's probably fallen off a cliff. Going off his BABIP, at a career high, he's been pretty lucky. So with his hard hit balls you'd think he'd have respectable offensive numbers but.. he's sitting at a wRC+ of 87. Yikes!

As a batter, he's just a modern day Morales at this point.

Not to poke fun of Vladdy's weight... but his weight. I can see him injuring himself or just be out of breath and impact his batting. I could be wrong, at this point you could try it but I can see reasons why the team wouldn't.

This team needs an overhaul at 1B, 3B, OF and C. I hate to say this, but Danny Jansen might just be a back up catcher at this point.

Wow, I had no idea Shaw’s statcast stuff was good. I was just looking at his K and BB rates and his ISO.

Groshans or Martin will solve 3B in 2022. Kyle Seager would be a great option if his stupid option for 2022 did not become a player option if he’s traded. Really just need a guy for 2021 and this year.

I think Jansen walks enough and is good enough at D that I’d just roll with him. Kirk should get some chance to steal part of his job though

Yeah I was surprised as well. I have been following his stats this season because he always looks horrible at the plate but sure enough, he's hitting it and hitting it hard.

After hearing how Jansen projected to be one of the best catchers in the league, Alfrod being a five tool player in CF, and Vladdy pushing JD out, nothing as worked as projected or expected. Now I understand there were a lot of circumstances that were considered as well, especially in JD's case, but I have become jaded. As much as I believe in Groshans and Martin, at this point you should makes changes to fill the position and let the prospects push the player out.

I liked the strategy when signing Ryu. Pearson projected to come up this year and be the no. 1, but things aren't going as expected and having Ryu right now absorbs a bulk of risk on the pitching staff.

I would love the Jays to get someone like Seager or make a play for Justin Turner this off-season. He wouldn't be a long term commitment, and I think a 3-year deal would be palatable for both sides. He should be good for 1 1/2, maybe 2 of those 3 years and can be pushed into a bench role in the final year. That allows Groshans or Martin to come up around 22/23 and still have an impact role and run with the position by 2024.

I don't know if its a focus on improving his launch angle, and it has improved from 16.3 to 21.5 from last year to this, but he isn't hitting the ball hard at all. His EV has come down from last year, and against FB is at 84.5 which is in the lower percentile of the league. He is getting fooled on breaking and offspeed pitches, with a xWOBA of .196 and .157 respectively. He is wiffing on both at a 40% clip as well. He can hit the FB and isn't being fooled by that, but unless he learns how to hit the others with more power and consistency he won't do much.

You're right, he is walking enough and has respectable walk numbers even last year, and his framing is good that he should be in the majors. I don't think he should be your no. 1. I am excited to see Kirk for sure and hope he can carry things. I do think the Jays should work on trading McGuire and hope Kirk becomes your no. 1 with Jansen as the no. 2, and fill the backup with stop gaps like who ever we have on the taxi squad.
