I wouldn't call up any blue chippers for this s***** ass year but I would absolutely call up the Forrest Walls, the Josh Palacios, etc. Heck callup Andy Burns. Play Espinal over Panik. If anything you know Montoyo will find ABs for everyone.

I'd like to say that I 100% agree but I only 90% agree because the team just does not have the depth at this point to do much of anything to fix the current roster.

It's really just an IF depth problem. Drury and Panik are the issues. (Tellez is arguably a tiny issue if you think he should not an everyday player.)

The team cannot f*** with Kirk, Martin, or Groshans in a s*** season like this.

The other options on the 60 are Ruben Tejada, Kevin Smith, and Andy Burns. It's easy to say that Drury should be jettisoned immediately for one of them but Ruben Tejada is 31 and has a lower career wRC+ than Drury and was last productive in 2015. Kevin Smith was dogshit in AA last year so that would be real desperation to rush him. Andy Burns is also nearly 31 but probably deserves a shot more than Drury out of pure f***ing loyalty to the organization.

So there's a weak argument to jettison Drury but zero rational argument to dump Panik.

This ignored potential FA infielders. Toronto should absolutely be spamming waiver claims to upgrade these nobodies.

That's probably not going to add anymore wins, as Guerrero isn't yet a good first basemen as far as I can see. Didn't Guerrero just blow the second Florida game with a couple of errors that allowed a few unearned runs.

You have to let them both play the field and rotate into DH occasionally. Let the cards fall where they may.... No need to make big changes to try and win the Corona bowl. Justin won't even let them have a Parade.

It's not about the wins it's about Guerrero learning how to play his new position with some consistency day in and day out. There's nothing like constant repetitions on plays to earn and feel confident at a position. Vlad Jr is suppose to be the face of the franchise labelled the superstar with all the hype they've given him while they still nurture him at every opportunity time to face the facts and address a few issues first starting with his weight and conditioning superstar don't need to be nurture they face their task head on. You don't see Mike Trout or Mookie Betts DH every second or third day they play their assigned position everyday. If Vlad Jr is the superstar they claim he is the lease they could do is at least threat him like one.

Exactly what I meant. It's not about the wins so you might as well let all of Tellez, Guerrero and Teoscar get reps at bat and in the field.

If you put Teoscar at DH every day and Vlad at first, Tellez doesn't get at bats and Teoscar doesn't get to play the field. No reason for that. Evaluate them the rest of the season. It may turn out you don't want both Teoscar and Tellez in every day roles for 2021, but let's figure that out.

Is there not an argument to be made that these guys would develop better if they got a chance to play real games?

Our window opens next year, if we can make Martin, Groshans and Kirk major league ready by 2022 instead of 2023 by playing them this year maybe we should do it

The idea is to get away from the mentality of "having a window" to compete by consistently drafting/developing good prospects and sustaining a solid farm. The org needs to do what they think is best with those guys long term, we shouldn't be trying to rush their development

Bringing up Kirk wouldn't hurt his development. He's the next Pudge Rodriguez.

Not sure the Jays are capable of Ursheling Drury.

If there is a magic procedure that gives 27 year old journey men Vladimir Guerrero JR's projections the Jays don't seem to know it.

They don't even know how to give Vladimir Guerrero JR, Vladimir Guerrero JR's projections.

I won't believe Julian Merryweather actually exists until I see him on the mound.

The mystery man that has been rumoured to have a 100 MPH fastball.

Wait.. we have a 39.5% chance for postseason?

The top 2 teams in each division make the playoffs regardless of record. So let's assume:

NYY, TAM

MIN, CLE

OAK, HOU

So that leaves two spots open. BAL, SEA, KCR, DET, and BOS all rebuilding/tanking. Angels suck. That leaves 2 spots for Toronto, White Sox, Rangers.

Damn, the Jays actually have a better chance than I thought. Of course Bo being out hurts those chances a lot.

So we really just need to hover on waters until Bichette comes back and make a run.

If you only need 30-30 record to make the playoffs, we're really not that far away if those little league mistakes get cleaned up.

Wouldn't hurt to add a real bat at the trade deadline either.

He'll step onto the mound, rock into his delivery, and vanish before he's actually able to make a pitch.
