Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Syndergaard had surgery and extensive injury history, Paxton had surgery and velo is way down in his first start. Yet I would still be much more interesting forming a contract offer for those two to be quite honest. They’d probably come cheaper than expected due to health.

Theres also the Shatkins / Cleveland connection.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Yes, depends on the price, shouldn't be much with recent injuries. So you wouldn't sign Stroman because of twitter? He's a good target, whether he'd sign here is questionable. Also, to just put an end to Spanky's spergy retardation, the Jays never made an attempt to extend Stroman and traded him with more than a year of control remaining. Safe to say he isn't coming back. Hnnnngghhhhh... SJW, hater, ist, etc...

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 The difference being that my baseball takes are much better than yours. It's natural for you to hate them. Nah... you're just an idjiiiiit!!!! You're to narcissistic to see, ya yellow bastard.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 I can't remember the last double header we had (cue someone posting me links to like 15 from last season alone or something...) so that should be fun

polar bear Verified Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 No he isn't. First off, he's a pitcher. Second, his ego probably makes him think he's entitled to a big contract. There are much bigger spots to fill on this team, like the bullpen, outfield and DH/1B. I also didn't mention twitter, dipshit. Would bring the Stro home in a flash.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Would bring the Stro home in a flash. The relationship with management is fractured as it is with some of the players. If the Jay's FO wanted Stroman, they would have signed him when he was here. I see a snowballs chance in hell.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Would bring the Stro home in a flash. I'm glad you're not in charge.

When rebuilding, you don't pass up an opportunity to trade a guy with a year and a half of service before free agency, for an SWR and Kay. I am sure the Jays want Stroman back, if the price is right.

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Exactly as I said, yesterday. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Too many on here let their emotions dictate their position, forgetting that baseball is a business. Stroman, despite his sometimes questionable behaviour, was popular among the casuals.

Stroman, despite his sometimes questionable behaviour, was popular among the casuals. And was a decent #2/3 starter... it'll come down to the money, if he's too expensive they'd move on. To think they wouldn't put out an offer out to his camp is asinine.

Stroman, despite his sometimes questionable behaviour, was popular among the casuals. Not my emotions amigo.. Supposedly there is some bad blood between Atkins and Stroman. Atkins feels disrespected by Stroman and Stroman didn't respect his position/authority etc. If you want to talk purely business, sin emotions. No way I am blowing a wad on an injury prone guy who was out-pitched by Ryan Borucki the last two years and is only getting older, who also would not be great for chemistry both club house and FO.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Geddy HBD!!! Geddy is a hardcore baseball fan, he'd put some of you fantasy nerds to shame.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 I don't think Shatkins wants Stroman back, and I don't think Stroman wants to go back to a team run by Shatkins. I don't see it happening. Plus, with his recent injury and the shortened season, he's probably accepting the QO anyway. Bauer is the real target, and if he truly wants to go year to year even in free agency, then it might work to the Jays benefit. Or they could sign him for a year and then lose him. Curious to see if Trev really does that.

Laika Community Moderator Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 RE: Stroman and Bauer I don't see the Blue Jays signing any starting pitchers next offseason, aside from depth guys, unless there are some major injuries and/or developmental flops this year. Ryu Pearson Roark Anderson Thornton (pen?) Kay (AAA or pen) Borucki (AAA or pen) Hatch (AAA or pen) Waguespack (AAA or pen) Murray (AAA) Murphy (AAA or pen) SWR (AA) Manoah (AA) Winckowski (AA) The 2021 depth looks adequate even if you ignore the arms who are more probably relievers or very bad starters. Don't get me wrong, an addition like Trevor Bauer would be amazing but I just think Ryu was already their big addition with a mind to 2021.
