glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Not counting tonight's game, Thornton...... Against NYY/BOS/TAM: 10 GS, 8.73 ERA, 40.2 IP, 8.06 K/9, 4.48 BB/9, 11 HR Against everyone else: 18 GS, 3.75 ERA, 93.2 IP, 8.74 K/9, 3.36 BB/9, 12 HR AL East struggle is real.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Wow... good job Birds, nice job b'y
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 This is where Tellez needs to get better. You have to know you are getting a breaking ball, even at 1-0, with first base open. Learning process.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 WTF is up with Thorton tonight? He looks like a completely different pitcher, bottle that s*** up kid. * Thornton... agree, it's consistency.
EdwinsParrot Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Gotta love smacking around the sox
Ex Player Verified Member Posted September 12, 2019 Author Posted September 12, 2019 WTF is up with Thorton tonight? He looks like a completely different pitcher, bottle that s*** up kid Dont wanna take anything away from TT, but it is September
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Dont wanna take anything away from TT, but it is September So? He's still facing a good line up tonight.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Bosox look so demotivated. Almost like they can see 4 years of losing on the horizon. Thanks Dombrowski.
Ex Player Verified Member Posted September 12, 2019 Author Posted September 12, 2019 So? He's still facing a good line up tonight He is, I just learned a long time ago not to take anything too seriously in spring training or September
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 He is, I just learned a long time ago not to take anything too seriously in spring training or September That has nothing to do with the fact that his mechanics look great tonight.

Ex Player Verified Member Posted September 12, 2019 Author Posted September 12, 2019 That has nothing to do with the fact that his mechanics look great tonight. You also have to remember there's very little pressure during these games (since both teams are out of it), plus the Sox dont look very motivated out there
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 He is, I just learned a long time ago not to take anything too seriously in spring training or September Red Sox are still a major league team. You can make the argument that the Blue Jays are a AAA team. So that September notion doesn’t apply here.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 You also have to remember there's very little pressure during these games (since both teams are out of it), plus the Sox dont look very motivated out there Lmao...you see what is horribly wrong with this statment right?
Ex Player Verified Member Posted September 12, 2019 Author Posted September 12, 2019 Lmao...you see what is horribly wrong with this statment right? No, I don't. Why don't you point it out to us
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Wet Noodle feeling some pressure from McGuire hasn’t looked completely useless at the plate tonight. Competition is good.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 You also have to remember there's very little pressure during these games (since both teams are out of it), plus the Sox dont look very motivated out there This basically means any results or stats occured against us since the 2nd week of the season is meaningless cause we have been out of it all year along with like 10 other teams. KC, BAL, MIA, DET havent looked motivated all year lmao...so any games vs those teams should be discounted or discredited lol
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 He is, I just learned a long time ago not to take anything too seriously in spring training or September Lol @ comparing September to ST. The reason why people might "discount" either of those is due to small sample size, ST is like a couple of weeks vs. guys trying their hardest to crack the MLB club, many of them prospects or career minor leaguers, while September historically has a bunch callups who may or many not perform well for a limited period. Thornton has a full season of data available so a good September can only be a plus and definitely counts.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Teoscar is done. Not a big leaguer. Go away please. This post aged well.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Thornton threw some filthy breaking balls that inning to Martinez and Benintendi.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 The difference with Thorton tonight is a much sharper breaking ball
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 His breaking ball and his command has been great. Hes not throwing very hard. A lot of 90-91s.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 So Alford isn’t hurt hes just not playing Davis over him for some reason. Its amazing that Davis is playing more than Fisher and McKinney is as well in the last week.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 So Alford isn’t hurt hes just playing Davis over him for some reason. Its amazing that Davis is playing more than Fisher and McKinney is as well in the last week. The game was out of hand. They could have given Alford Grichuk's 4th AB. It's ridiculous really.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 If you would have told me Jonathan Davis was a fan that the Blue Jays wanted to a favour for I would have believed you. He has no buisness hitting at the major league level.
Ex Player Verified Member Posted September 12, 2019 Author Posted September 12, 2019 Moorcroft 96 is an attention whore
wk680 Verified Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Not that opener again speaking of, this guy has had some kind of nice run. since Aug 2nd: 11 starts (opening), 20.1 ip, only 5 ER
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Nifty little play from Vladdy.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
