Other teams selling pitchers are very annoyed at the Blue Jays return for Stroman, which one rival called “dogs*it.” If that’s all it took to get Stroman, fear is the price goes down for other pitchers unde control

Well I don't think anyone actually thinks Atkins is a good G.M, so would they expect anything different in this trade?

Well, I never see people get as up and arms over Stro's kinda theatrics when it's a white guy doing it. Hell, the fans couldn't get enough of a guy like Grilli when he was pumping his fists and hollering when he completed an inning. I'm the last guy to to throw around the racism card, but this forum has always been a little weird about Marcus Stroman from the time I started browsing.

 

I dunno maybe I'm overreacting, it's just that Stroman's been my favorite Jay for years, so it's odd for me to see everyone blasting him.

It's so easy to tell which posters are boomer white conservatives. Zero concept of societal racism or dog whistles.. Mainly cause they have never been affected by it. The guy above is dead on.. Stroman is treated the way he is because he is a loud, brash young black man. The double standard is out of hand. Bauer is a literal MAGAt douchebag who talks down teenage girls on twitter and he takes less s*** then Stroman. It's laughable and if you don't think race is a clear issue then you are out to lunch. Bubble boy.

 

Hey dumb s***, Stroman played for the Jays. Bauer plays for some other team. Maybe Stroman gets more comments than Bauer on a BLUE JAYS message board.

 

Also, plenty of people have had negative comments about Bauer. Just ask Boxcar i'm pretty sure he's keeping track.

Usually the people who call other people racists are the real racists themselves. Does anyone remember another BJ who was traded who threw a tantrum before they left? I honestly can't recall anyone recently.

Not buying this argument. As I said in another thread, if the Jays FO cannot grasp the extremely simple concept that other teams like the Twins were hardly likely to put in their best offer for Stroman a full 72 hours before the deadline, then God help us.

Thats annoying. How hard is it tell the Mets wait 5 minutes and call the Twins back and let them know you have an offer that you're about to accept and ask them if they want to top it.

I'm going to miss Stroman. I liked his intensity on the mound. I admire the way he worked his ass off to come back from his acl surgery ahead of schedule and then was fearless on the mound for the jays down the stretch. Was no surprise that he was Gibby's preference to pitch a big game. Guy was a bulldog on the mound for us and ate up innings to boot. Loved the way he got under the Bosox skin. Much preferred over sulking blister boy.

It's happened to him for basically all 8 starts at AAA now so he's certainly got some things to figure out. His number's in AA were better than his peripherals, but even so that's a pretty brutal drop in performance.

They were very solid but he was probably not going to maintain a HR/FB rate of 2.6% especially going into AAA with the home run surge there. So his 1.49 ERA was certainly outperforming his peripherals.

I agree about the balls in AAA, that story is insane, but his peripherals are basically intact with his ERA. Those numbers are godly.
