Again, his fielding numbers this year (particularly in LF) are positive. He hasn't looked bad by the eye test either, and he's got a hell of an arm.

SSS but I agree he did look solid in LF. That said his career numbers are trash and if we are going to use SSS (295 innings in LF and just 123 in CF) his numbers in CF this year are atrocious. We can see how it turns out but so far I don't think it's much of a stretch to think that Gurriel Jr. may be a better defensive OF than Teoscar.

Anyway, I wasn't aware that Teoscar had a fan club dedicated to his defense and this is way more discussion than I hoped to get into by merely wondering out loud if Gurriel could pull it off better than him.

What the f*** was that Rowdy?

That was a weird play all around. I'm okay with it though. We've been having a hard time scoring runs. Not sure we want to be conceding any in the 6th.

He runs okay too. Decent range

He runs extremely well. Run speed is 94th percentile. I don't think it fully translates to his baserunning or his range in the field though.

Huh? All he had to do was look Judge back and throw to 2nd for an easy double play, it's moot now that they got out of it.

I think he has potential on the bases but it's much harder to teach routes and reading the ball off the bat which obviously is his biggest issue in the outfield. He doesn't need to steal bases (I feel like his first step might be a tad slow) but at the very least he should be able to become a valuable baserunner as long as he's always looking at his coaches.

Who would have thought that Richard would toss a quality start after the early shallacking.

Nothing quality about that start, just a lot of luck.

I agree. For someone with fantastic sprint speed, it doesn't appear that he's utilizing it to it's fullest on defense and to a certain extent on the bases.

Doesn't matter, he gave us six innings and gave up three runs, so statistically it's a quality start. He's got us in a position to win the game.

Give him a bit of credit. He made a nice pickoff which turned what would have been a 2 run HR to a solo shot. Also made a really nice barehanded fielding play on that one slow roller. He located his pitches decently for the most part.

He really made that an adventure lol. THAT is a body that isn't going to age well.

Makes me want to see Alejandro Kirk roaming the outfield.
